    Agreed.

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

An actor that actually gets it.

Did you read that he spotted and reported two of the (eventual) 911 terrorists on a plane flight he was on a month before the actual attack. He said that it looked like they were plotting to either hijack the plane he was on or doing a "dry run".

    He was ignored (of course).

The folks in Rhode Island who have met him say he's a great guy.

He spent some time here when his brother was killed/dies in Kent hospital. He spent a lot of time during the wrong death trial which they won big time. I didn't live here then but have heard stories which have all been positive. I should have looked up the facts prior to posting in case I have something wrong but do have one thing right for sure, he's is a decent human being.

    ?

James Woods is a vocal conservative who dared to crticize Obama.

He said "I don't expect to work again, I think Barack Obama is a threat to the integrity and future of the Republic. My country first".

    I could not agree more.

Funny how when actors criticise one President (George Bush) they are the toast of the town and loved and promoted by Hollywood and the media, but when they dare criticize the next President they are vilified and punished.

You have free speech, Tim. Go out on the street and scream your lungs out about any topic you choose.

But this forum has rules, if I'm not mistaken, and one of them is that political discussions are verboten.

Think of it this way - you're free to post pornography on many online forums. If you did it in this forum the thread would be deleted.

Abiding by the rules of a community has nothing to do with freedom of speech.

Eh.....maybe so, but one certainly has to agree politics in general has encompassed the majority of everything we do these days. Which is telling of an ever encompassing government, wouldn't you agree ?

Jessie pointed out Mr. Woods patriotism, not a bad characteristic if you ask me. Besides, acting is just a job which he totally understands, your country is so much more. Acting is make believe, pretend.....the country is reality, at least some in Hollywood can distinguish that difference.

I understand your point. But sometimes interesting subjects and comments come up. I was not the original poster, but I did pipe in, especially when one poster did not know the "backstory".

Tell me if I am wrong, but if this thread, and my posts, were not conservative in nature, I think you would have went right past them and/or not commented (or at least not been so anxious to exercise the rules).

    Dude. Three things:

    1) Most if not all of the political tripe on here come from conservatives. From what I've seen, we progressives/liberals generally don't start these things.

    2) I generally pass the stuff up, but in this case I clicked thinking it was a post about "Family Guy," which would've been worth a minute of my time, unlike the current discussion.

    3) If folks on here can't follow the rules, is it too much to ask that political posts are at least labeled as such, so those of us who are here to discuss and learn about hifi aren't sucked into your rabbit holes?

My name is not Dude. But I kind of like "The Big Lebowski" so I take that as a compliment.

I work in private industry, and I think you work at a state-suppoorted university.

It's Friday, and unless we are both on vacation, we should pobably not even be looking at this site (but we do).

Politics are probably as important as "Family Guy" since that is a cartoon.

An actor? I already don't care.
All parties should be ashamed that they have a budget that
is in the red every year. Both parties throw money at their favorite
causes. And both sides are at fault here.
It's a stupid series of statements. The fact that it's right wing

And just as worthless. I think a good Libertarian president would
    put both parties on notice.
