Yes, "Non-Essentials" will not be on the road. That happens here in MA with all the State Holidays. The question is, if they're "Non-Essential", why are we paying them in the first place?

Maybe it's time just to send the federal government packing..... Seriously send all the congressmen and the executive branch home. The Supreme Court can leave their robes in the coat check.

Let's call it a day. Recall all our ambassadors, close all our embassies and consulates, null and void all our international treaties. Put all our Military troops stationed on foreign lands on ships and planes and bring 'em home.

Convene nine constitutional conventions for the new nine nation-states as outlined in the map.

    Really, enough is enough already.

    Sincerely,
    Wayne

I was actually thinking about leaving Michigan out as a failed anarchical state - up for grabs. But on second thought I thought it would be more appropriate if Detroit were the capital of the Rust Belt States of America.

Washington DC could remain the capital of the Communist States of America.

Richmond or Atlanta could be the capital of the Righteous States of America.

Omaha could be the capital of the Plains States of America.

Denver the capital of the Rocky Mountain States of America.

Northern California and Northern Nevada should be part of the North Pacific States of America with San Fanscisco as the capital.
LA should be the capital of the Southern Pacific States of America.

the Mormon Republic of Utah can do whatever they want, they already do.

and the Republic of Texas can move the capital to Houston, I suppose.

    All good.

Here is a little price by a Donald Livingston, a professor of political philosophy at Emory. I attended a seminar on the decentralist tradition in America with him years ago. Read everything from the articles of confederation to the writings of John C. Calhoun, a SC senator that called for secession over taxation. Livingston calls for something similar to the map above, essentially making Amercia more like - gasp - the European Union. Those of you with decentralist or libertarian leanings will probably find it interesting. I actually think in an ideal world we would do something like this, but given the constraints of the actual world, it seems like a stretch...

Don't worry, they won't be. In the least. Not at all.

Well ..... that advice sucked ...... tried it, the neighbors called the cops, and I now have a court date in 60 days. You should have mentioned "be sure to wear pants", then maybe we wouldn't have had that big scene on my back deck this morning.
BTW, pepper spray does burn .....

In the meantine, I think we should re-organize the country by FEMA regions. That way ... oh ... I've just been informed that's already been done. : ' )

Hey Steve sorry to hear that...Believe it or not i am so out of the loop that I didn't even know what this was about at first. My bro in law works for AZ fish and game and is the main paycheck in a house with two small kids. And today is his birthday. Dumbarsses in Washington apparently don't care how this affects regular folks. So dysfunctional its unbelievable.
