    Uuuuh, missed the whole receiver shut down bit, sounds like something is shorted or broken, I wouldn't think it would shut down with such easy speakers to drive. My old Yamaha HTR-5990 never shut down driving the A9's and full RTi setup...netiehr did the Marantz or the other Yamaha...

    Personally I'm a fan of Yamaha, not the cheapest but I like the specs on their Aventage line, more so than Marantz. For the same money I think you get a more with a Yamaha. But I get stupid good deals on marantz and they work so... :p

    @ffiori do you live in Canada?

    Your receiver has RCA outputs, I think you should be looking for a decent 2 or 3 channel amplifer instead of a new receiver.
