Atrium 4 weak sound

I have a pair of atrium 4s mounted on my deck. After redoing the deck I reconnected the wires to the speakers, and the left channel is getting very weak sound coming out of it. Going to change out wire to see if that might be the problem, but was wondering how to test speaker. It was dropped about 3' during the construction.
The speaker is about 6-7 years old and have been through all types of weather (including being buried under a foot of snow) with no problems until now. I love the sound I got out of them and hope I don't have to buy another pair.
Thanks for all your help in advance.

Hello Rhuarc3,
Welcome to Polk's forum. The best test would be to swap the two speakers, play the one that isn't working on the speaker wires of the other speaker. This will tell you if you have a speaker related problem or not.
Regards, Ken -
Ok so I did the swap test and it's not the wires. Not happy about that. The speakers are 6-7 year old (just a guess) atrium 50's. I'm still going to replace the wires with some nicer ones (just have cheap indoor speaker wire now). Should I buy newer atriums when the opportunity presents itself or attempt to fix current ones? Any suggestions on what to do appreciated. Thanks.
Thanks for the welcome and reminder to try the easy stuff first, Ken.- Todd

Hello,
In that case box up the non-working Atrium and send it to: Polk Audio Service, 1 Viper Way, Vista, CA. 92081. Include a short note giving them your name, address, telephone number and email address. The service department will determine what needs to be done with the speaker and call you before they begin any repairs.

Thanks. I will do that. Hopefully it's not too expensive to repair.- Todd
