When i initially started this Audio journey, i built a budget system and everything was in budget but i never regretted any choice/decision i made.

I still think my AVR and my speakers were good for the money

One decision i really regret now is the Monoprice cables though they are cheap

I regret that i thought all cables same.... Like a freaking frog in a well.

With the recent speaker upgrade i wanted to jump out of that well and explore the new world ... Thanks for F1Nut for pulling me out...

"buy MIT and thank me later" so here it goes .....Thanks Jesse!.

i am close to that 200 hours of burning my shotgun S3 speaker cables with my LSIM's....

instead of using all sorts of adjectives to describe how much i liked them let me just tell you guys that I used my last few hundreds (of my audio budget )to place order for Shotgun S3 RCA cables to connect High end HTPC to AVR.

High price items may not mean high quality but high quality items never comes cheap ..... PERIOD (.)

and yeah i am giving my Monorpice cables to the folks who purchased/purchasing my old speakers He He

    Yup waiting on my RCA's

Decided to uprade all the IC's and Cables before getting any new components.

I wish i have enough dough to get a MIT cable for surrounds too.

Good hear they worked out for you.

As far as using the MITs for the surrounds? Man would that be a lot for surround cables...

Have you considered other ways to improved the rear? What about trying to pull off that last bit of surround performance compairing the LSiM702 f/x to the 703's on the sides? Or go full 7 ch?

Even though its been ages since I've heard an MIT cable and have yet to hear the Shogun S3's IMO, I think using them for the surrounds would be the very last thing I would do (if at all) if all else was in place and I was bored and had extra cash on hand. I think I would want to see how much better I could create a more enveloping surround experience. Before I spent that much on surround cables I would have to try the LSiM702 f/x vs. the 703's on the sides in a 5 ch system or try a 7 ch system with the 702's on the side and the 703's in the rear....to see if I could pull off that last bit of surround performance.

Agree with you... some time in near future i am thinking of going with (douglas connection or signal cable for surrounds) which ever offers a decent disocunt for Polk members.

Both offer the same discount percent off IIRC and I believe (but don't quote me) its 10%. Are you looking for speaker cable and interconnects for your rears, or just speaker cables?

Wow that is almost close to Monoprice cables price...

Yeah, if you DIY using his connectors and speaker wire its about monoprice price wise, but much much much better sound wise :).

Give him a call, he's a great guy and he can give you the in and outs of his cables, but I like em myself....

At least . Cant say enough good stuff about both him and his cables . Personally I prefer his spades over banana's.

I also had my "enlightenment" moment with MIT. I jumped on the Exp2 sale and hooked them up to my old RTi A7's and was in love.

I would have kept them but I did not care for the laid back top end that I got out of them on my LSi's after I had to consolidate systems. I decided to keep my Signal Ultra's that I found to be more neutral.

Sadly, my surrounds are still hooked up with Monoprice wire...

I need to take the time to just order the Douglas wire and be done with it!

I snagged the same MIT Exp2's for my HT and think they're great bang for the buck. I agree the top end is laid back and I think it balances out the Rti's perfectly, but see what you're saying on the Lsi's. Congrats Sumerian glad to hear you're liking them, those S3's are definitely nice cables and you did your research on that system. I bet it sounds great!

I am using MIT AVT2 interconnects on my 2ch setup. I am not using them on the CD player. I did a side by side with my CD player using Liberty Inter-flex and thought it sounded better. However my turn table, USB DAC, connection form pre amp to amp are all using the MIT.
Maybe some day in the future I will try their speaker cables, but for now its out of my budget.

I think the people who say you cant tell a difference are just using speakers/amps they think are good but are not or maybe their hearing isnt as good as it once was. I am not using them b/c I like to spend money or b/c they are super fancy. I am using them because they have a better sound than standard cables. I am 100% happy using Hosa and Liberty interconnects/speaker cable. But if something sounds better, im using it.

Dot let anyone say that you wasted your money on cables.

I'm pretty sure my speaker cable journey has ended . . . with MIT
I went up the standard food chain to thicker and thicker wire. Then, I went out on a limb and picked-up MIT AVT 2s
Instant and significant improvement from the first song . . . I just upped-the-ante and am not looking back

    I highly recommend a listen . . .

another one bites the dust. Bring your cables to my house and take a seat with eyes blindfolded and try to tell them apart from my monoprice. Nobody can recognize MIT cables without eyes.
