Has anyone watched it yet? The sound is almost over the top!! I had to turn it down to -14 just to save my hearing. No complaints, watching Kate in those leather pants!!!!!!!!

Been waiting for this one. One of the few I went to the theater to see. No brainer on the dvd buy. Don't expect an all out blood, guts and gore horror flick. As with many "vampire" movies this is a love story. But delivered in vampyric style. Keep in mind the 15 million budget, as I remember.
When it first premiered (pre-release) in Canada, the fan based audience cheered and the Sony VP looked over at the directer and said "get to work on the second one" and with at much bigger budget.
One of my personal favorites of last year. Going to enjoy cranked with a full house. Good reviews on the sound and picture quality.

I'm a little turned off by vampire movies that have lots of gun play. The idea of a vampire having to rely on a gun seems ridiculous.

I watched it and really enjoyed it. I agree, the sound was very hot. My normal listening range is between -12 and -10, but I backed way off to -17 for this one. It reminded me of the theatrical version of FOTR! Very dynamic and engaging soundtrack. Lots of powerful bass too.

I thought the story was pretty good and it held my interest from start to finish. I would definately recommend it to others. Enjoy!

Just watched it, very hot. Loudest DVD to date. Had to turn down my reference volume by 10. Unfreaking believeable!!!!!!!!!
Even better than the theater. The bass was insane throught.
    1 out of 5
*Movie 4.5 (little more style but for only 15 mil)
*Sound 4.5 (just needed the DTS ES treatment)
*P. Quality 4.5 (filmed entirely at night) projector looked awesome.

This IS why I am in debt and bought a reference home theater.
    Bring on number II...........

The only reason I would get this movie because its a combination of Matrix and Blade. If the LFE is not strong then I might skip, unless someone really test it good.

The LFE is insane. Like Blade, like matrix, like hot women in black latex, like gunfire, like your sub shacking house apart - this is it....
Awesome story - great action...... I still got a smile on my face!

Bought it last night and  I had to back off my dual 18" subs big time. It was shaking the glasses in the kitchen cabinets in the next room. Not to mention making my hair tingle. Gotta love a girl in a leather bustier and auto-pistols.

Build your own screen for about $50 and you'll save a ton of cashola. My 80" cost $40. I'll soon be building a 90" and attempt to squeeze it in my small room.

    Ya know I second that.

Built my 12 foot screen for $60. The Greyhawk would cost more than the screen. And the X1 is a nice little unit but a fraction of the cost of just one of your ML mains.
