How'd your team(s) do?

Of my 3 teams, the Broncos are really the only one who put on a convincing performance. They started out slow, but Peyton seemed to figure out that Raven defense in the second half and just took them apart. I got the feeling they could have scored 80 if they'd really needed/wanted to.

My Colts got the win against the Raiders, but their O-line doesn't look like they're going to hold up very well this year, I hope Luck survives the season. Maybe the Raiders are better than everyone thinks, but the colts made Pryor look like Donovan McNabb and the Raider defense up front look like something from the early 80s.

My 49ers (I suppose if I had to pick only one team they would be it since I grew up with them) played a great game against Green Bay. They didn't run the ball very well and GB did a good job overall of keeping Kaepernick from running all over the place. I love all the talk about the read option and then SF runs it maybe a couple times the whole game. The Packers got a bad break on the offsetting fouls, but thought that was about the appropriate outcome given the way Matthews took him down out of bounds. Overall I liked what I saw out of SF, but clearly they've got things to work on.

So a good first week for me, and an excellent first week for my fantasy teams.

Oh, and the Cowboys should be up by 3 TDs right now, stupid that this game is as close as it is. I'm certainly not a Cowboys fan and would prefer a Giants win tonight, but hopefully Romo is ok and can play the second half.

Manning became the coach in the second half. 7 TD's is insane! The feel very confident that the Broncos are the Team to beat this season. The Saints game was awesome.

The team I really paid attention to was the Ram's. I have been a strong believer in Bradford since the days with the Sooners. He finally has some talent to work with and today's game was a nice watch.

Christian Ponder needs to be released so he can sit at home and ponder why he sucks so bad. Then the Vikings could bring on Tebow... at least then God might be on our side.

Ponder sucks... that is all I gots ta say 'bout that.

Ugly game for my Seahawks, but they got it done somehow. Wilson had a good game with 300+ yds and no picks. For week 1 I don't expect things to be really clicking, so I'm pleased with the result.

The GB/SF game was a darn good game. Both sides need to work on some things but if San Fran doesn't start teaching these guys how to tackle, they won't make the playoffs. Soo many missed tackles. The cheap shot on Colin by GB was ment to take him out and that's disappointing coming from a team of GB's caliper.

The Steelers....wtf happened to them ? They looked like Detroit 3 seasons ago.
My hometown Bears, while pulling out a win still looked unorganized and confused. Was never a Cutler fan, and as long as he's at the helm they'll go nowhere.

Agreed on the tackling by SF, they cleaned it up a little in the second half but they did a piss poor job of tackling in the first half, surprising to see that coming from them. I agree on the cheap shot by Matthews. Even though the call wasn't technically correct, I felt like the result was in line with the shot that was taken.

OMG! He is painful to watch! IF he remains as the starter, he will cost Frazier his job. Jennings was seen yesterday shaking his head in disgust/frustration. I think he's becoming acutely aware of how fortunate he was in the past having Favre and Rodgers throwing to him.

I seriously think that McCleod Bethel-Thompson ("MBT! MBT! MBT!"...hey, sounds an awful lot like "RG3!") might just be the only real QB on the team...but, I'm guessing we might get a look at Cassel maybe week four or five.

Bronco's looked good. 7 touchdown passes is pretty impressive. I think he's in better shape this year then last. They are the team to beat.

When All Day carries the team, it speaks volumes. Now, Ponder will soon be an afterthought. He should have been an afterthought seasons ago.

Maybe Brett Farve is still available....

Ponder wasn't worth a first, second, or even a third round pick. They could have had Peyton Manning for the pick, or they could have "sucked for Luck"... either option would have been a stellar choice to the mess they have now. Pull Ponder for Cassel??? they both stink on ice.

MBT or give Tebow a shot... This team has all the pieces to contend, and there is nobody on the horizon with the skills to lead it.

Maybe Peterson can play QB too. He already does just about everything else.

A little extra salt to our wounds...while Ponder was picked in the first round, Colin Kaepernick was picked in the second round of the same draft.

Alex Smith was also available this past offseason. Wasn't Carson Palmer too?

Funny how when I watch these other QBs (Rodgers, Manning x2, Kaepernick, Cutler, Stafford, Bradford, RG3, Rivers, Wilson, Vick, etc., etc.) making plays (passing) with nice zip on the ball and incredible accuracy, I think to myself....Hmmm, Ponder could never make that play! How could I see this so easily on my TV, sitting on my couch, when the whole Vikings organization can't even see this in person?!? ...Long season ahead, I'm afraid.

Worse yet...Adrian Peterson is already dangerously close to falling into the Barry Sanders pit...sad.

Congrats to the Texans - they stayed the course, had heart, and kept the faith.

The Chargers on the other hand.....frickin' Chargers....fast start, then *Poof* no will, no drive, fold up the lawn chairs and go home.

I am learning not to be emotionally attached when watching them play cuz I don't expect much from them.

I saw the first half and a bit of the beginning of the 3rd quarter before falling asleep. Thought for sure our Texans had once again been snakebit by the MNF curse again. Amazing they pulled it out!

Really enjoyed watching my Broncos lay out the Ravens. Though after watching the game a second time it was pretty apparent that Manning was not that accurate especially in the first half. That spells trouble for the opposition. I'll be anxious to see how they do against the Giants d-line this weekend.

The interesting team to watch this weekend will be the Seahawks. Carolina had a great defensive effort and I want to how the Seahawks respond to what may look like the game plan to limit Wilson and company's scoring machine.

My sympathies to Steelers fans, their injury losses are killer. But what I don't understand is why Todd Haley is still the OC. Last year he proved that his system was crappy. The opener only made it look like the team had regressed even more offensively. Tomlin needs to get a clue and fire him before the yellow lynch mob gathers.

Fins looked decent in week 1. Tanne obviously has a good groove going with Hartline, and Wallace needs to put his pacifier down and quit acting like a baby when he doesn't get enough looks. While the offense was a little stop and go, the defense looked excellent. Cameron Wake is a sack machine, and Dion Jordan didn't really play much at all. When those 2 guys are both on the field for 50 snaps a game.........watch out opposing QBs. Judging from the Pats/Jets game last night, we are very much in the AFC East race this year!
