The Huge.... The Heavy.... and The Gorgeous

ever since i had the itch for audio i wanted to have to High End audio (well at least the entry level)

Started with couple of hundred budget and moved to 1k system.

I was waiting to upgrade that 1k system from a long time... honestly speaking i was waiting for Polk...

thought of buying monitors a year back but couldn't pull the trigger... wanted to save and take a bigger jump than stopping in between.

Polk friends and family listened to my plight

Now here i am with wonderful polk folks.

I was very excited and worried (thought they might not get shipped) after i placed the ordered.

Anyways after getting the delivery notification, i went to pick them in my sedan (Yeah !) along with my colleague..

little did we know we realized these damn speakers are very long very heavy and it was a stupid idea showing up with two sedans...

went back and bought a Odyssey .... and burned some serious calories carrying them inside...

even the baby surrounds are like sumo kids damn they are as heavy as my current Sony tower speakers...
and forgot about the center channel i had to use two stands to put it up

every thing from that point is heavy and big.... even the shotgun cables .. i didnt know they will be that big...
cables that thick and heavy? what is the heck is in that cables??

and then comes the black mamba ... holy god! it is seriously heavy for its size...

started setting up every thing still in the process....

I was little worried the midnight mahagony would be little out of place as i wanted every thing in black...

Let me tell you guys it is BLACK ... yes it is BLACK even the box says BLACK... that is kind of a pleasant surprise for me.

Right from the way they were packed you will see they are high end speakers...

They really look gorgeous ... the finish is absolutely amazing i pay a lot of attention to fine details .. let me tell you i am more than impressed.

I dont think i will have to upgrade anymore until i can afford a system with Marks, Mc etc.,

I know the system i put together is not the best in the world but they are the best in my world...
Thanks to the nice folks who have really helped me through my gear up process

You did good! Looks great! And I bet they sound wonderful on that Parasound! So yes, we are appropriately envious but since you're part of the family, we'll let that slide!

    Enjoy!

Well, you really screwed up big time buying that gear. You are going to get it all set up, and after it breaks in you will be thinking that it sounds great. After a year or so then you will start thinking that if this sounds so good then what can even better gear, speakers, cables, etc sound like. So, then you will start buying new gear, and the whole cycle starts over.

    Congratulations. Enjoy.

Congrats on the prize. For some reason, people doubted me when I kept saying the mm finish was black. Maybe people will listen to you.

That's a hell of a system that should keep a grin on your face for a long time to come!

They are BLACK.... i couldnt see the color posted on the website in any light condition...

Very nice gear, once dialed in let us know what you think and if the speakers need a burn in time give them that also.I always liked the way Parasound did both logos on front and tops of their amps. Not so subliminal branding there, you can't help but notice it and I have no problem w/ that....

Good or bad..., these sound good to me coming from a set of sonys...

I honestly feel there is lot of difference the way they sounded on saturday morning to sunday night... and that too they are running off my Onkyo TX-NR 709 receiver.

I cant wait to listen to them After connecting the black mamba..., after its burning time and after the burning time of the Shorguns... There is a lot more package waiting for me
