Blown tweeters in RTi 10's

I bought my pair on 9/10/2007 so of course they are now out of warranty. I confess, I had a few drinks and decided to play my music just a little too loud which caused my Marantz receiver to turn off. Once turned back on, I realized the tweeters were no longer operational. All other functions of the speakers seem to be fine.

I'm assuming it's the tweeter themselves and not other internal wiring within the speaker but don't have anything to test them with. I've already removed the tweeters from the cabinet and it would appear the tweeter and "faceplate" do not separate? Can I purchase new replacement parts from Polk? I have a feeling this is going to be an expensive lesson!

    Hello Tighe,
Welcome to Polk's forum, sorry about the tweeters. In all likelihood just the tweeters are damaged and you can telephone Polk's CS department at: 1-800-377-7655 or send them an email to: polkcs@polkaudio.com for parts ordering. Mention you are a CP member and they can help with the price.
    Regards, Ken
