Do Polk rti a3 speakers have a fuse ? If not it looks like my son blew them. He said they stopped working and smoke was coming out of them... please tell me there's a fuse in there somewhere.

As a general rule of thumb, there is usually no smoke involved with a blown fuse. Smoke coming from electronics is usually means something really bad just happened.

Sorry for your busted speakers. Tell your son to stay the hell away from your gear if he is going to turn the volume all the way up and smoke your speakers literally. Call Polk and see if you can get replacement tweeters if that is what broke. Make sure you make your son pay for them. Maybe then he will learn to respect your property. Unless they were his then he can have the fun of paying the cost of fixing them.

    Welcome to Club Polk!

Did you buy those "new"? And when did you buy them? If they are new and less than FIVE years old you can get a FREE replacement sent to you from Polk as you're still under warranty. If not you can still get a tweeter for a decent price from Polk as mentioned by Cathy above (cfrizz).

    Either way you're OK!

Smoke coming from the speakers would indicate a cooked resistor, not a tweeter.
