just sent in my payment for unision research unico nuovo integrated amp. this is going to replace my yaqin mc 20l in my second system. the nuovo is a hybrid integrated that use 12ax7's in the preamp section.
Technical Spec.

Output Power: 95W RMS/ 8Ohm
Frequency response: -0.1dB @ 10Hz, -0.5dB @ 100kHz
Input Impedance: 50kOhm // 47pF
Sensibility: 260mV RMS
Input stage: Pure A Class, parallel Valve stage, ECC83/12AX7
Output stage: Dynamic A Class POWER MOSFET complementary
Input: 5 Line RCA (1 phono optional)
Line Output: 1 tape, 1 sub (with volume control)
Output Connector: 4 + 4 bi-wiring
Feedback factor: 10dB
THD: 0.15% @ 10W/1kHz
Power consuption: 400W max
Size: 43.5cm x 9.5cm x 43cm
Weight: 16kg

this is a very musical amp with clear clean highs and a mid range that is layered in refinement. the bass is not in your chest bass like krell but closer to good tube bass, i think this is because of the mosfet transistors used in the output section.
the high end can be a little laid back but this suites my usher 6381's just fine as they are forward and sometimes in your face. the casework is solid and you know you have a piece of quality equipment.

    Cool Marvin,

Do you still have the BE's in your MD2's? Have you had a chance to put this lil' baby on your MD's....just curious about taming the highs.

    Have fun bro

here's the funny thing, the Be tweeters are more laid back than the dmd tweeters. with the Be tweeters the sound is sometimes a little too laid back but with that mid range, it grabs you with something to take your attention away from the high end. sort of like a magician with mis-direction:cheesygrin: would love to hear one of the more powerful unico's but with the nuovo retailing at almost $3000 the others get pricey.
the sound stage on the 6381's is well in front of the speakers. the nuovo pulls it back to the front panels. it could be a great match for the dmd tweeters, just pop your tweeters out and come up one weekend:mrgreen:

I'll to what my friend, I will try to do that....worst case scenario I will bring up the DMD tweets next LSAF for you to try.

Or I can drop Halen in the grease and you can borrow his:smile:

With that thought, have you ever asked Stan to borrow a pair of tweets out of demo pair?

It has been a very busy schedule for me indeed. However, during this time I have decided to go in a different direction with the home theater and 2 two channel setups. I am permanently moving on from everything I own, except the Usher's.

Will be replacing all the LSIM's and electronics. I have the Usher's big brother in mind and I am confident it will work in a 15 by 25 Home theater room. The biggest problem aside from ahem (cough), the cost will be its weight and getting it upstairs. But this will not happen until next year.

It is funny how sometimes, I have to press the reset button and start all over with the knowledge and experience that I have gained.

Marvin, did you bring that unison to skip's? With everything that has been going on, I seem to have the memory of a goldfish.
