Bose Speakers?

What Bose speakers are these? It looks like a Series 1 equalizer but the fronts look like nothing I have seen before. Any help, Thanks!

Yeah those look weird. 901s.had one driver facing forward.and the rest towards the rear. Leave em alone

Those are Series II Continentals, which I own. The EQ is also a Series II. Continentals were limited production, and cost more than regular 901s. Worth every penny if the Cabinets are in good shape

i was thinking if someone picked those up for 2 bills that would be a score. If the drivers were good & original boxes & stands a bigger plus--if Bose is what they like

You can buy a much better sounding speaker for 300,or even 200.00. They have a highly marketed name for many years but side by side they are very easy to out proform with speakers costing less. Also very tough in reguarda to placement as well. I used to sell the series lll new back in the day and for the 1000.00 price it was east to blow them away for way less money even than. But admittedly it was hard to beat there marketing and sale pitch.Just saying.

Well it didn't take long for the bashing to start. Properly setup, given plenty of clean power, and a rebuilt equalizer, the Series II will blow the doors off the Series III any day of the week, and twice on Sunday.

No bashing here, just my experence with the 901's . I have listened to dozens of pairs hooked up with a wide viriety of amps/pre conbos as well as a bunch of diff recievers in many diff homes when i sold them. Just my opinion based on a lot of ear time..

I understand. Not everyone likes the direct/reflecting effect, and they certainly need a lot of breathing room. Then again, not everyone likes Polk's SDA effect either. I've owned every Series 901 over the years. I've rebuilt and resold dozens of pairs. I've recapped and upgraded several hundred 901 Equalizers, and probably re-edged 500-600 901 and 802 drivers. The Series III you mentioned is, in my opinion, the runt of the entire 901 Series. It was their first ported design, with their new in-house designed and built drivers, and a complete re-design of the Equalizer. I'll take the originals or Series II sealed, acoustic suspension models any day over their ported designs. The Series II Continentals which the OP refers to are the Best of the Best, in my opinion.
