Does Craigslist really suck?

I cannot see what it is, though :-P
Onkyo? Sony? Pie-O-neer? -
I'm gonna guess Pioneer on the bottom and possibly a Kenwood, or another Pioneer on top?

I love this game ;-) -

Yeah, Randy was just kidding about that. I've also gotten some gems from CL including EPI 120Cs, my Monitor 10As and 7Bs and a number of other things. Including some nice vintage silver face receivers, etc.

My only actual brush with Craigslist was a pair of functional but needy ReVox A77s and a more-or-less intact EICO HF-85 preamp from a very nice guy in Pepperell, MA.

:-) Next time, sneak a photo of the 'tube amp'...
The Concord's not exactly high-end, but it's also not something you see every day. -

Nice lookin' piece of hardware; should sound good, too.
Stromberg-Carlson had a tendency to use "odd" (off-the-beaten-path) output tubes; but this one is, it appears, using 6V6. Looks like this amp has been "adapted" to use something in place of 7199 for the voltage amp/phase splitter? -
Thanks, I bought these adapters that convert the 7199 socket to accept 6gh8a tubes.
To my ears the amperex 6gh8a sounds a little more musical than the 7199 did. Tube swapping is another offshoot of this "sickness" we share.Doug

I got this Thorens TD-125 mkII (with SME 3009) for free on CL!
Well basically free.
It was part of a listing of "Stereo Stuff $500.00". It was this TT, a Kenwood kr-9940 and a pair of JBL Aquarius IV's and some massive teac cassette deck (top loader). And a new in the box Stanton quad cartridge with 2 needles (1 shibata).
At the time I really didn't have any money to "spare" ; But I went for it anyway.
I had to replace the surrounds on the JBL's ($30-40); And a friend of mine was over when I hooked them up he fell in love and gave me $300 for them.
Sold the Kenwood for $150
Sold the cart for $100
Hell; I even sold the hinges off the dust-cover for $75!
So I guess I got paid a few bucks to keep the Thorens!
Craigslist does not suck!
I also recently bought a Western Electric KS-15750 for $100 (tube tester)
That SANSUI G2000 was the fist stereo I ever owned! -
Very nice!
That is right up there with my $5 Town Dump score
Thorens TD126 Mk II with SHURE SME tone arm and Dynavector cartridge.

Picked up a ok package deal last night in Portland All Minty. R30 fronts-r15 rears-csi3 centre-psw202-onkyo txsr602.. The guy said the tweet was gone in one of the r30's-- it wasnt the case RECEIVER ISSUES. This may be my HT temp because being NEW condition for cheap complete set up price was worth it..yeah i know low budget HT. But 98.5 % of my time is music. So this should be better than my C Sworks soundbar---the Onkyo is going? HK or Denon or newer Pioneer.. OH the csi3 is a beefy son of a gun too....
