Well they are on sale for half price  but I would have never saw myself posting a thread with this title before joining the forum

These are the platinum ecplise rca's and are the top of the line for wireworlds ic's. It will be nice to see what improvement they are over the gold eclipse so more from me later as I have taken the day off work and have beer

This is the kind of thing you just shouldn't post! Were you wearing skinny jeans too

In all seriousness, looking forward to your review of the IC's. Don't own any WW stuff, but it seems like they're making a name for themselves.

Well right now I have them running through my primaluna tube mono blocks with a direct connection to the perfectwave
dac using its preamp function. Running it like this gets normal pre out of the equation for interfering with evaluation so I can easily tell thediff between the gold eclipse and the equinox ic's

PFB. Congrats. I am sure they make a positive difference. However, looking at that unnecessary case reminded me of the Shunyata philosophy. When you get a chance you need to try their cables.

"Certainly, Anaconda models are not inexpensive, however, Shunyata has intentionally held the PowerSnakes Signal Cables prices down to reflect only the real costs of the material, research and labor involved in producing reference-quality US manufactured cable products. Shunyata's hope is that the Anaconda starts a trend that brings the focus of cable design away from aesthetic add-ons and back to what actually matters: measurable science and technologies that improve the performance of the world's finest electronics and speaker systems."

I just put another 3 pairs of these on order to hook up the Anthem D2 and I am going to rid myself of all other ic's I own. I do not wantto really gointo these as its my second pair of pricey ic's I have tried since getting my toes wet 2 months ago. I can say that the platinum's do not even sound like they require any burn in

I may get into other stuff like the shunyata's if and when I get done with wireworlds offerings

Nice PFB! Haven't heard any WW cables before. Can you explain the changes to the soundstage, transparency, tonality, and detail these cables brought to your system?

Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion." :\
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

I truly believe cables make a huge difference, but I must ask this... are you better off spending $3000.00 on cables for a $2000.00 amp or are you better off spending $4500 on the amp and $500 on the cables?

Seems to me PFB that at this point in the journey that I would invest in better gear first, but that's just me.

IMO, there is no direct correlation between price and quality, so it really shouldn't matter.

Well I figure if I invest in better gear I will not know how it 'really' sounds unless I get cables than can get out the way the most. As far as how these sound I do not want to really comment just yet as I have just been chilling with my favorite music and have not been swapping things around. I will say that these cables are unlike anything I have ever heard and never knew a little ic cable could sound like I have upgraded to a new DAC and they are not even burned in.

The Gold eclipse are world class but the platinums have a little more detail in a different kind of way. I found the golds to be a slightly more forward or aggressive on some tracks but the gold are in no way bright just diff, its very hard to explain

I am glad you are enjoying yourself in this hobby and would never dog anyone on what the spend, because I agree price does not equal performance.

That said, you are talking about new/used Pass Labs amplifier/preamp prices here.

IMHO, I would have tried the Pass route first.

Congrats, I bet they are sweet!

I have been amazed at how much musical detail I have been able to get from my modest gear as I upgraded interconnect, speaker, and power cables. Within the last year I have come to realize that clean power and good cables are the foundation for a decent stereo. You can have the best gear in the world, but if your power and cables suck then your system is performing subpar.

The benefit of upgrading your power and cables before your gear is two fold. First, you are able to have the current gear operate at its potential. This can very well be enough. Second, when you do start buying better gear the foundation is in place, so your new gear can work at its potential right from the start.

Thats why I just went for wireworlds top dogs and its very true about the ac's as they have been just as important as the cables. With that being said though I would nevr dare hand over the cash for a platinum electra power cable

I am just. Blown away by these cables... holy crap these have to be the best out there

I was thinking of a really nice pair of MIT speaker cables to take them to the next level but am concerned about the the whole need to have MIT speaker cables and ic combo for them to sound good
