If the drivers i just bought are real MW 6511...then im a REAL happy camper. The other drivers the guy sold were in fact MW 6510's which the picture showed that they were. I'm hoping the guy does not know much about Polks and did not expect the other drivers to be different. So the title to it did not change, but the pic clearly shows MW6511's. If both of them work and are 6511's..then i'm REALLY a happy camper...LOL If this solves my 1 driver problem, that it POP's depending on how hard you drive it or the type of music being played. Then i'm beyond happy........
So happy in fact, i may start rebuilding them, as soon as i can. Tweeters come first, then i'll talk to VR3 and see what we can do with the Cross-overs. At that point i will forget trying other speakers out.
I have tried other tower stuff, and it was not cheap...30 year old un modded 1C's with a bad driver beat them. So, not alot of reason to go there.
Now i know the 1C"s are the "bottom" of the SDA line. But in my music room...they REALLY work well. Don't know what to tell you about that...they just do. With the upgrades and new tweeters. I'm not sure you could beat them..at least in MY room anyway.
But i'm jumping the gun here. The MW whatevers have to show up first....and hopefully they work. Then i'll take it from there....LOL

I have bought some off ebay and it works out well if they know how to pack them otherwise cross your fingers the magnets do not shift. They need to be wrapped in heavy bubble wrap several times and double boxed if possible.Speakers: SDA-1C (most all the goodies)

I've had pretty good luck buying drivers off ebay, as long as the seller packs them well.

Have had great luck with eBay as well, but I always beg the seller to wrap them well in bubble wrap etc, and explain the magnet problem. So far, all the sellers I've dealt with oblige my request without hesitation.Home Theater/2 Channel:
