Overwhelmed!!!

I am way over my head right now when it's coming to choosing a receiver to power my new system I will be putting in my basement. Right now I have four rc85i's for surrounds, I am purchasing 2 Rti a5s for my fronts and the csi a4 for my center (haven't settled on which sub I want yet). I have no clue what type of receiver to get! I have read so many articles and forum posts my head is spinning. I would like to spend $1000 or under. Can someone suggest some good models for this set-up? Any help would be greatly appreciated. This is my first go-round with a home theater system.

Are you not getting the answers you want in your other thread?
-
Haha I just didn't know if I should post a pure rec question in the speaker section
-
I got some really good responses that led me to the Rti a5s and also some good sub choices..not much receiver help though...I'm truley clueless in that aspect.

Does anyone know about the pioneer elite sc 63?

You can't really go wrong with the SC models at any of their price points. That being said, Pioneer at one point in time only had a couple models and the choice was easy. The last couple years they've introduced many more models in the lineup and IMO it has watered down that SC Line, or at least made it more confusing. So while I'm confident the SC models are still great, I don't know which one to recommend.
-
I'd pick up a used older model SC like the 0X, 2X or 3X lines for half that price and use the rest of the money towards a really nice sub. Just my opinion, i'd also check out accessories4less as they always have good deals on avrs.

There are so many to chose from. So we understand the overwhelmed feeling...

I'll second the accessories4less recommendation. I bought my Marantz receiver there and love it. They have great prices on refurbed Denons that I would probably look into if I were in the market. Just take the advice of everyone on here and get one with preouts. I was in love with the sound of my AVR for quite a while and now I only use it for powering the surrounds.Display: LG 47" LCD | AVR: Marantz SR5005 | BD: Panasonic BDT-210 | CD/SACD: Oppo 980 |

I agree. The SC-63 has most of what you need. It was the third or fourth model from the TOTL Elite so a little less power, but all the features and processing you need and latest version of ICE amplification.
This will do you. Unless you wish to move higher up the food chain: SC 67 or SC 68?

Make a list of what features you want out of an AVR. 100amps should be good enough to handle the speakers you have. Also make sure you can hook an amp up to it for more power if you so wish.Anaheim Hills CA,

I spoke with a couple of buddies that know a lot more than I do and they said the sc 63 would be good for so that's what I ended up purchasing...pretty pumped to get everything set up...now I just need to decide between the a5s or spend 200 more for the a7s. I listened to them both today and I think I'm going to go with the a7s

Congrats on the receiver, you won't regret it. That said, once you have it in hand, read the manual cover to cover, twice. Modern receivers take a bit of setup to get right and most complaints over sound is usually a setup issue.HT SYSTEM-

The Pioneer has a "monitor" out ( may be the hdmi out), use it. It will let you set up the unit like a computer bios. The pioneer comes with a auto tune mic called "mcacc", use it to setup your systems after you have installed all the speakers.B&W CM9Classé Sigma

I'm looking for a newer AVR and will the Pioneer Elite SC-63 power a LSiC and LSiFX surrounds? I currently am using an external amp to power the the towers.
Thanks.
