TennMan- per our conversation earlier today... you should snag these IC's to use between amp and pre. Find another decent one for the DvD/CD player and you'll be good to go.

Also really enjoyed meeting you today and wish the visit could have lasted longer, but wives, kids, and life makes my time to myself very rare. Hope you enjoy the pre.

    Crank those babies up Ronnie!

BTW, now that you've got some nice clean power feeding them, we should do the Dimensional Inductors.
    The Bass will be amazing.

Wow. That is a great deal on the cables. Sadly the way my cabinets are made I have to run the cables behind the cabinet shelves. They have to be at least 3 feet to reach. If I'm reading correctly those are just .5 meter. I could probably use one but he probably would rather sell both at once. I will be putting the new gear into the cabinets tomorrow. If there is any way I can make them work I will grab them if they aren't gone by then.

I enjoyed meeting you today and talking with you. Maybe you can come again sometime when you can stay a little longer. I really appreciate you driving so far to bring me the preamp.

I intend to do some serious listening tonight. Will probably spend a few hours with my new-to-me gear. I think the Adcom amp and pre are a good combination for my 2B-TLs that you upgrade for me. I can already tell from the short time I've spent listening so far that the separates beat my cheap AVR receiver hands down.

After reading the ad for the cable(s) I see that it is for one set not 2 pairs. I read over it too quickly the first time. Still a good deal and I will see if I can use .5 meter cables tomorrow.

2215, 2216, 2220. I haven't heard anything outside of the 22xx series, but will hopefully have one coming my way soon. The last two digits represent the rated WPC, where something like the 2325 is 125 WPC (2200 +125). I use the 2216 and that 16 WPC designation is misleading in terms of power.

I seriously considered using the Marantz over my Jolida, and the Marantz can be had for a fraction of the cost (and troubles). They should easily be obtainable in great shape for 2 bones shipped. This is by far the closest to tubes I've heard a solid state sound. It adds a lot of warmth, has punch, digs low, and maintains the details you want. It sounds great with my Ushers and sounded good with the Monitor 10's when I had them, so I'd assume they would sound good with SDA's as well.
my 2252b will not power the sda2b's i have. Not enough ump. Will start clipping at 10:30 on volume dial. But bigger units will

After a couple of days of listening to the Adcom GTP-450 preamp I can say that I really like the way it sounds with my 2B-TLs. The more I listen the better I like it. I'm hearing sounds when I play my CDs that never heard with my Pioneer AVR. I never realized how much better the separates could sound compared to an AVR. Thanks again TNHNDYMAN for delivering the preamp!

Now that I have a preamp and amp (Adcom GFA-555) that I like I need to get some better IC cables to go between them. All that I have now is the cheap cables that come with VCRs, CD players, etc. I can hear a little hum right now if the volume is turned up and there isn't any music playing. I think it is caused by the junk cables. I'm sure something better will turn up in the F/S forum soon that will work nicely with the low budget gear that I have.

Glad you are enjoying it Ronnie. Will definitely get together again when we can spend more time and not be so rushed.
