So i just picked up a pair of vintage Monitor 10a's with the Peerless tweeters. And of course they are putting my Monitor 50's to shame! But i'm actually seriously thinking of taking the CS1 center channel out of the mix cause frankly i can't hear the need once the 10a's are doing there thing!!! Amazing sound!!! Any thought, is there center channel alive that can compliment these beauties!?

CS400i is the center of choice it seems with vintage Polks.
Otherwise, people tend to use other Monitors (5s, 7s) as their center."Some people find it easier to be conceited rather than correct."

CS350LS is also on top of the list for vintage Polks.

How about a Monitor 10 repurposed in a different enclosure with the MWs on either side of the tweeter, similar to the CsiA6 design?

Very cool. Have you thought about locating the passive radiators somewhere other than the front to make the baffle smaller?

I also run a pair of 10A's as my fronts with no sub or surrounds. I kept my center. I could hear the dialogue better with the center.

Looks like all the drivers from two M5's except the tweeter. Since you only use one tweeter do you have a frequency imbalance - more mid-range, less highs? Or did you increase the output of the tweeter with Xover mods?
Sorry to the OP, but had to ask. I use a cs350 and it works well. I have an old pair of 10a's and westmass's project looks interesting.

I just got some Polk 10Bs with a Polk LF-14 subwoofer center. The LF-14 Cabinet is the same size as the 10B and contains only two MWs and a 12 inch passive. I wasn't real impressed with the LF-14 until I got the crossover set up right.

That's exactly what I do with my Monitor 4's: I assume yours has peerless tweets?Yamaha RX-A2050 AVR (5.0.2); LG OLED77C2 4K TV(4) Polk Monitor 10B's w/SoniCaps, Mills, and RDO-194 tweets (R/L F/R)(2) Polk RC80i (Top Middle)Polk CS300 center channelAnalog: B&O TX2 Turntable, Nakamichi Cassette Deck 1Digital: Pioneer CLD-99 Elite LD, Panasonic DMP-UB900 UHD Blu-RayBedroom: Arylic Up2Stream AMPv3 driving Polk Monitor 4's w/peerless tweets -

I'm using:
M10bs as front mains
M5 as a center
M4 as the surrounds
The only non matching speakers are the surrounds, as they do not have the Silver Coil tweets.
Sounds good to my ears that way it is.dave
