Ok, so I've had my 2.3's for 3 or 4 weeks and have bought a new amplifier and picked up a Dreadnought from Brock. I got a set of rings and an AL case for my Dreadnought from Larry. So last week I finally got the Dreadnought mounted in the case and got all the connectors and the cables made up. So today my wife went to visit her sister in SLC so I thought this is perfect for me to complete a few of the upgrades I wanted to do. I pulled all of the drivers and tweeters and marked all the wires, I Dynamatted all of the baskets. I used Armacell to make new gasket. I JB welded all of the magnets for the drivers. I redrilled all of the tweeters and drivers and the PR's to install Larry's rings. I replaced all of the tweeters and drivers and the PR's. The worst part of all of this is my music is down for the entire time I am doing all of this, about a six pack worth. But now that I have got all of these projects finished the sound is fantastic, well worth all of the effort. Thanks to all that have gone before me.

Congrats, enjoy your babies. The 4 Sq ft is called the "Wedge Pack", and ebay is the cheapest place to get it. Last one I bought was $25.00 also, shipping included.

what is this Armacell stuff people are talking about. I browesed their website but I'm not sure which product people are using for the Polks. Can you provide a bit more info about it?

Armacell is the manufacturer of a product called AP/Armaflex Insulation tape. It is 1/8th inch thick and 2 inches wide and comes in a 30 foot roll. You will have to cut it to about 3/8ths of an inch to use as a gasket around the speakers. This stuff compresses very easily and it has a self-adhering (sticky) backing that goes on real easy. Go to the Vintage section on the SDA's and Raife (DarqueKnight) did an extremely nice right up about gasket materials. I picked this stuff up at Home Depot and I would imagine it is in just about any home improvement store. Armacell part number on the package is TAP18230.

Armacell is not sold in the big box stores like Rona or Home Depot up here. It can be bought from specialty wholesalers or shops that deal with Plumbing/HVAC.

It was hell trying to find/acquire it here...
