    You acn use your receiver to test them, don't run for long periods of time, or high volumn

    Also, don't run them in parallel or series with anything. Just run them by themselves and on their own respective channels.

    even if it is running at 4 ohms when the receiver is 8 ohms?

    As stated above, you are safe as long as you aren't running them at ear bleeding levels for long periods of time.

    So I agreed to meet this guy to buy the speakers and asked if we could meet at this gas station where I know there is a power outlet and could hook up my receiver to test the speakers. His response was no. He said he didn't have enough time to spare me 5minutes to hook up my receiver to the speakers so I can see if they even work. Something seems super fishy about this deal so I am not sure if I am going to go forward with it.

    Well evidently there's something wrong with the speakers. Sounds like hes just looking for some smuk to dump them on! :rolleyes:

    Sometimes those fishy deals arent so fishy..some people just want big speakers gone and dont have time to mess with it. There are alot of people out there that could care less & dont need the money & just want to be rid of items....last year i bought a set up-- Onkyo receiver. Cd player. Klipsch kg4's all mint for 40.00 in a glass case with all accs....they said nobody responded' till i did 2 weeks later....the had spelled Klipsch= kipsh speakers--otherwise they would of sold in a day--listed in yard sale

    Well we will see. I don't have a 4 ohm receiver to use them with. I might just flip them but we will see. Meeting him this weekend
