Verizon Blows Big Time

Since making the mistake switching from COX to Verizon I've had nothing but problems. I mean they really really really suck. I mean BIG time. My home/office phone is not working properly and sometimes not at all and they are sending a tech Tuesday sometime during the day WTF . I have customers/friends and family try to call me on that number and ...........................................they can't reach me and I can't use that phone to call out. So I went out to the box and F'ed with they wires and the phone worked for a minute, wow!!! Then no dial tone then buzzy signal then static.
I just got a call and now I no dial tone. Verizon sucks, did I say that already???

Verizon tried **** me on my first bill after the change over and they made good on the contract after I confronted them. A sorry only goes so far and as far as I am concerned sorry means nothing and hate hearing that word.

What bothers me as much as anything is that I made the mistake of changing to Verizon

Verizon service has been flawless here, aside from the billing issue, maybe there's just a problem with your install. Have to checked your connections, are they all secure? Have you reset your router/phone box yet?

IME, Verizon sucks in that they are SO expensive...but as far as their towers in the areas I have lived....there service penetrates commercial building in elevators and in basements! It was Awesome when my wife worked at one of their offices in MI. But, I am poor and have T-Mobile which is much more affordable for Family plans of 3 lines. We get 4 bars in our homes and there are our only phones....finally got rid of the land-line.

Flawless????????????????????? Since you are soooooooooooooooo flawed you would not know what flawed means :mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

That's how pissed I am that anyone, even my friend Mike, would make ANY acceptation for less than the best customer service. Polk has the finest in any industry by the way.

TUESDAY?????????????? to send a tech out WTF

Fortunately I was able to speak to a new customer during this and secure a nice new job before having phone problems.

Mike, Thanks for your advice and I have been fing with the connects on and off so I can make a call.

I swore at the computer recording when asked if I want to speak to a service tech and then it asked me another dumb question. They suck and like too many businesses and this society in general we have too little face to face and or mouth to ear communication.

Someone, somewhere can find something wrong about any business. I had DishNetwork for years and one customer service rep (foreigner) PO'd me so bad that I cancelled them and moved to DirectTV. I have no problem with firing a company I do business with.

All providers are less than good at customer service. Time Warner around here had service down
for the neighborhood for a week at a time when I switched to Verizon Fios for everything.
It all boils down to who does the install. If it's a good tech, it goes well. If it's a warm
body, you're in trouble. Verizon, AT&T, Cox, Time Warner, they all are cutting costs big time.
My company is trying to take all technical support over to India and Vietnam. Not only
is quality going to suffer, but you won't understand half of what they are saying.
We are creating lots of new jobs, just not here. Welcome to the new economy.

It's a holiday weekend, I can't get a home heating oil delivery until Tuesday either.

As far as prices go, they're the cheapest cable provider in this area.

Exactly. I'm not doubting you're having issues with Verizon, it's just that it doesn't seem typical compared to my experience, and the experiences my friends and family have had with them. Best of luck getting everything resolved.

Verizon FioS is still not even available in my area (no comments from mid-Islanders please), so I guess I'm lucky?

Still, it would be nice to have some leverage when it comes to "threatening" Cablevision... lol
So, are you willing to put forth a little effort or are you happy sitting in your skeptical poo pile?

    Thanks Pal,

As things happen there were a couple Verizon trucks up the road and unfortunately for them Anne Marie saw them and spoke with them. She was not harsh with them but told them about our Verizon phone service problem and they said there is no way they would be permitted to stop and fix the problem which they agreed would take a few minutes. They agreed they would have to open the box section for phone service and fix the bad connections. If I do it myself they say there could be a problem down the road. I have had much better luck, and so has a friend.

I have five Verizon cell phones for my business and have never had any problems.

My friend had Time Warner and switched to Verizon FIOS. No down time ever, and she is getting much higher connect speeds with her internet access.

They probably need a paper trail in order to get paid. No paper trial then their local service department wont be reimbursed.

The problem is management everywhere keeps such close reins on technical people
that they don't get any work done. It's all about process and time tracking.
Heaven forbid you stop to help a customer.

I've had awesome results with FiOS. Since I switched about 4 years ago I can rarely think of any downtime whatsoever and their speeds are exceptionally fast. My only complaint is their online account navigation sucks, and for the 2-3 times I've actually had to call customer service, its a pain getting where you need to be.

Yep the problem isn't with the Tech's it is the micromanagement they are subjected to on a daily basis.

According to Google Voice's FAQ, the answer is "not yet" when it comes to porting in landline numbers. However you can port in cellphone numbers. Perhaps landline porting is planned for the future. Didn't affect me because I haven't had a landline since 2000. When I joined Google Voice I just had them assign me a new number. I use the Google Voice number as my business line.
