Hi all, I sent in one of my mw8003 drivers for warrenty replacement a month ago so i called to find out whats taking so long. I was told that they no longer have or make that driver and it will be replaced when an other co., that is lincensed to make them, actually make them and delivers more.
How long will that take??? and will it be the same quality???
Has any one had this happen?

    Hello,
Thanks for posting on the Forum. We're certainly sorry that we are unable to send you a replacement driver, immediately. For many years we felt that we could manufacture tweeters and drivers, ourselves, that were better than what we could purchase on the open market. But, things have changed. We believe we can have outside vendors build tweeters and drivers that exceed our capability. In order to make this happen we have to work with a potential vendor, sending them highly detailed specifications concerning every aspect of the original design. Our speakers have always used innovative components and cannot be replaced by "off the shelf" substitutes. This means we have to find a vendor who can custom build the necessary components. This process involves the vendor sending us hand made samples, which we thoroughly measure and evaluate. Then necessary corrections are given to the vendor, who in turn, submits a changed version. Once the final design has been reached larger sample quantities are produced and evaluated. The end result is an extremely well made, highly tested component, in some cases exceeding the original design.
We ask your patience, but I believe you will receive a very satisfactory replacement driver that will be well worth the wait. If you have any questions, please telephone me at 1-800-377-7655 extension 891 or via email at kswauger@polkaudio.com and I'll be happy to help.
Everyone have a happy holiday, Ken
