GOLDEN EARS AUDIOPHILE AUDITORY ENHANCEMENT - $500 (Bellevue)
AUDIOPHILES LISTEN UP! THE ULTIMATE TWEAK-THE ULTIMATE UPGRADE OF UPGRADES!

"KING AUDIO" BRINGS YOU "GOLDEN EARS (™) AUDIOPHILE AUDITORY ENHANCEMENTS

Ask yourself why does sound seem louder when we cup behind our ears?

The outer part of the ear is called the 'pinna.' Its function is to capture sound, and it can be thought of as a sort of funnel, when you cup your hands behind your ear, you're increasing the size of the funnel, thus allowing more sound to enter the ear.

Also the sound waves transfer through solid objects more quickly than air so the sound now is transfering through head skeleton which it is solid

Golden Ears allows you to do other things like Concentrate on the speaker, and face the source. You also block out some other noises.

I do hate to say it, but I tend to cup my hands behind my ears when I am really listening hard or A&B'ing stuff as it does make a bit of a difference.

That said, cupping your hands behind your ears is free lol

these are some of the posts which keep me coming back. I thought of having a hat that would naturally cup the ears, but this is too funny. I'm sure the guy is just having a field day laughing at audiophiles with this one.

Yes gents, the theory is sound. It is amazing just how much information comes off that recording and through your speakers that is missed. Try it sometime and you will be surprised as I was.

Yeah Carl, I'm not saying it doesn't work. It does work and works well. But $1,500 for the deluxe "high quality platinum painted" set of golden ears I just can't seem to do. Even paying with Warcraft Battle Ostrich's, I still feel ripped off.

I wonder why nobody has made a commercially viable set however... It would seem like a very cheap audio tweak. It seems to me that the human ear is the weakest link sometimes in the audio chain.

While more sound from straight ahead will be heard, the surround sound reflections will be diminished. Overall, the sound quality will probably be lower with over compensation from the front. This is no different than somebody cranking up the bass because they love bass.

Glad some find my humor in the Golden Ears.

My system consists on VTL MB-450 monoblocks, VPI TNT 3.5, EAR 834P, Convergent Audio SL3, Thiel CS5i, Cardas, Shunyata, Straightwire, dynavector, hubbell ect. I believe this demonstrates that I am an Audiophile and just poking fun at our wacky hobby.

Poking fun at the Hobby is fine! But why do you put such a PRICE on it?

When I used to live in NYC. Bellevue was the "premier" psychiatric facility. You are not "associated" with it, are you? There were also a lot of guys on the street receiving signals from extraterrestrials through the aluminum foil hats they had on their heads? And many WEALTHY audiophiles in New Mexico who communicate with beings from other Galaxies. Most have gear EQUAL to yours or better. Having a high end stereo is NOT the FINAL guarantor of mental health and sanity!

That is part of the poking fun. Just like Coconut Audio power cables. The problem is some people are unable to grasp the humor, and extrapolate that all high-price items are just voodoo and provide little or no value.

Why get so personal, it is a joke-get a sense of humor.

Also I do not take kindly to your attack on the mentally challenged.

I also live in Bellevue, WA and have a direct relationship with the ER, nothing to joke about.

But hey, it's just a joke right? Lighten up!

Hello and welcome to the Polk Forum, GOLDEN-EARS. You should check out the Pacific Northwest Audio Society http://www.audiosociety.org/ I think this would be right up your alley with the level of gear you run with. BTW, I got your humor. Love the 100% satisfaction guaranty with the no return policy. Oh, and what did you use for the ears? They look like McDonald's small french fry containers that were painted white from my end.

    Hello Tom,

Thank you for suggesting the audio society, not really my cup of tea. I really like to discuss music more than the latest mega priced gear.

The Golden Ears were made of plain white printer paper cut into a circle and scotch taped to create a form.

The idea of Golden Ears came to fruition after a colleague spent $600 on speaker cable "lifters" or speaker cable "elevators".

You may want to talk to them or attend one of the meetings. I'm familiar with many of the cats that attend and if you want to talk shop about music? Then this is definitely right up your alley. They will often have the ultra rare master tapes and LP's that you will not hear anywhere else and the diversity of music they enjoy covers a wide range of genre's. To them, it's not just about high end gear....even though they do have access to a lot of it. You will also meet some of the industry insiders and industry heavy hitters as well as normal enthusiasts. Just food for thought. You don't even have to be a member to attend one of the meetings.

There are a plethora of audiophiles out in your general vicinity. If only Charlotte was the same.... *sigh*

There is NO attack on the mentally challenged anywhere above? Humor cannot be reined in, lest we lose the ability to laugh at "ourselves" and life which has always been one continuous comic/tragedy! Bellevue? Have you ever heard of the use of bricolage?

I should have read your ad more closely because I did not see that there was no contact number or e-mail. My initial impression was that, though this was a joke, you were trying to profit from it. My mistake, and that's why the attack.

I have a question for you, though. How does ONE even find the TIME to search for "responses" to a fake craigslist ad? And why bother? Why would one even "care"?

In any case. It's OK. Just misread you.

The ad was a joke between a fellow colleague and we were interested in the responses from the control-people such as yourself.

Methods of payment clearly states monopoly money ect.

You misread the ad and misread yourself, and yes your remark about ones mental status is not funny to a loved one with such a disease.

My ads may or may not be taken as humor, but YOUR statements are clearly NOT FUNNY sir!
