Powering my RTI A9

I am starting to look at a preamp and amp to power my RTi A9's. I recall reading that these speakers can be on the bright side which I do tend to agree with. I also, recall someone talking about using a warm amp vs. a bight amp. I am unsure how to determine a warm/bright amp and frankly never even new of such a thing until I joined here a few days ago.
I guess I will get the answer out of the way now since someone will ask. I feel comfortable averaging 600 for both. I would prefer to buy new but would go used if the dealer/seller was reputable. I definitely could save for a few months if needed to up the cash.
Please do not suggest a preamp/amp based on the price alone listed above. I am also learning and I am open to suggestions. But let's be realistic also...

I went the pro-audio route and picked up a Yahama PS2500 and Focusrite interface (fed by my computer via USB). This cost me a little north of $600 but is well worth it. They are both bullet proof pieces.
As a matter of fact I just saw a pair of PSB Stratus Silvers near me for less than three Benjamins and I like knowing that I have an amp that will drive it no problem. I think a warm sounding amp would be more tube derived. I would describe mine as neutral and uncolored. Just out of the way and makes the LSi 9's sing.
I picked everything up at Guitar Center with the safety of being able to return it all. They let me demo there to my hearts content and really had a good amount of know how to share.
Also look at the Crown XLS DriveCore. It seems no matter where you look people are REALLY impressed with it. AH/AVS/HTS/Parts Express Tech Talk/HomeTheaterGuide/BlueRay Forums. -
A few suggestions in no order.....
Wyred 4 Sound amp with a tube pre amp, maybe a Jolida or CJ-PV10
Parasound 2250 or 3500 amp with a Eastern Electric Minimax tube pre amp.
BAT VK-200 amp with a BAT VK3 tube pre amp. This would be my choice on a limited budget.Political Correctness'.........defined

+1 on tube gear with the RTiA series. Also, other warm sounding solid state gear would be B&K, Carver or maybe some older Rotel stuff. I had a Kenwood amp powering my RTi12s. It was pleanty of power, but just not a good fit with those speakers. -
Parasound amps def do well with the rti line! There is a parasound 3500 for sale right now on audiogon (no affiliation). Plenty of amps to drive your A9s!AVR - Onkyo NR809

+1. I've used both Wyred 4 Sound and the Parasound 2250 amps with the RTIA9's with great results. No preamp yet, I'm still using a AVR. But for my ears, I like the pairing._____________________________________________________________________________________________

some mid to uppermid and all high end receivers have pre-outs to use external amplification which turns your receiver into a pre amp function. -

OK... I understand that about the pre amps.... However, the post indicated:No preamp yet, I'm still using a AVR. But for my ears, I like the pairing.
After, looking at the signature line he listed he was using the Denon AVR-3805 which I did not see was a pre amped model.

I've had the AVR for a long time which has preouts. I upgraded to the RTIA9's and then purchased the amps hooked directly up to the preouts on the AVR. I use my set-up for 2 channel music and 5.1 movies. I like the pairing of W4S or Parasound with the A9's. My next upgrade with probably be a dedicated pre/pro or preamp. But after a few recent additions this will be a little while. In my case, both amps were a significant improvement from just using the amplification in the AVR.
Since you are on a budget, I would go used. Do some searches to learn up on amps, brands, models here. Once you get to 100 posts you can view the "For Sale Classifieds" where amps and pre's come up often. Otherwise Audiogon, Ebay and craigslist. If you find something you like or have questions, post it here. There are many knowledgeable experienced people to help out. Good luck._____________________________________________________________________________________________
