So you're pretty much saying, you can dish it out but can't take it. Thanks for the clarification.

The original thread on this was locked down presumably because the usual Emo bashing started... though honestly, I thought everyone was pretty civil for once. Perhaps it was just a precautionary measure.
Wow, I'm new to the forum and its hard to believe that there is Emo bashing on a Polk Audio forum.?? This seems like the place where a product like that would be embraced for what it is and what it accomplishes. But, forums will be fourums...
Having never heard the products I would hope their seperates push the performance level above that of many receivers?

Anyway, we all know that there are critical forums that would shun down on Emo, Polk, and heck... even some of Carver's offerings. Ok, I should get off this road.

Still, what if the union nets a better product at the same low price? Or some higher end products that are better received in the industry? I would think this would be a situation in which everyone would win, the target market, Emo, & Carver...

    Why?

Separates that outperform most AVR's? That's not hard to do.

I've seen a number folks make a similar comment, which tends to reinforce what many others have said all along, that it's entry level gear.

With the exception of the current tube gear offerings, Jesse. That's a whole other class of amplification.

Pointless discussion. Chocolate in your peanut butter is a good thing.
And finding a hair in your soup is a bad thing.
When they start making product, let the reviews tell the story.
Until then, it's all just white noise.

What is "Entry Level" gear? performance that is inline with $500-$800 AVR's or $800-$1800 AVR's or $600-$1500 seperates? I think Emo would be totally fine if their products were labeled "Entry Level High End" gear. But, I guess some don't see them as a "high End" product...or any better than an AVR?

Anyway, I guess we will have to wait and see what's ahead for them.

In my opinion Emo provides a great product at it's price range. That said, their XPR 5 is twice the size and wont touch my sig. It also cost half as much today as mine did in 05 so I would not expect it to perform at that level. I would bet the Carver affiliation will certainly help. They will meld i am sure raising Emo quality and lowering Sunfire or carver prices.
    Too much **** to list....
