The ad is asking $1200, I seem to recall seeing 1.2's going for that price, what say the experts?

Overpriced by $500.

Kinda what I thought...So, if I'm were to go off the deep end with SDA's Does it make sense to save my money for some 1.2TL's?
Or if I nabbed these for a good price will I 'get the idea?'Up

If you really want the 1.2TL's, wait.
-
Unless they are just about new in the box they are a little steep.
I grabbed a set of 2.3tl's off of CL last year for $500 the pair. The guy had them on for at least a month with a lower price each time.
Wood perfect, components perfect, one grill cats scratching post. But that's OK since I am experimenting with different fabric for the grills anyway. -
Most people never post local ads for what they really want for their gear. It is extremely common for buyers to offer less than posted so sellers usually raise their asking price for the post. I'd offer them $500. They will prob say no but will then counter. See where they end up. I would never pass on good SDA's if I could get the price right, just to wait on another model. They are none too often available. I've been looking for a pair of SRS 2's for a quite some time now and had no luck. But have found other models in the mean time. Good luck.If con is the opposite of pro, is Congress the opposite of Progress?!

Thanks for the advice!
Little more research shows they're early models with the 'donuts' on the upper and lower midrange drivers, so I definitely wouldn't pay premium for them. And I'd feel like too much of a d-bag to make such a low ball offer right now. I'll keep an eye on them, if he dumps the price maybe I'll go take a listen...they're also about 1.5hrs away, so not worth running right out to listen to yet.
oldmodman, have you heard the 1.2's vs the 2.3's?Up

Kinda.
I heard the 1.2tls back when there were available new in the stores. But I am always looking for a nice pair to round out my collection. In a large enough room they just can't be beat. Amazing sound. -

I just picked up a pair of these in truly mint condition from the original owner for 600. I saw the ones you are looking at on KSL too and was asking about the price to see what I should offer and another Polkie mentioned these that I bought today. Good luck with your search. Another great thing is these we're for sale here in Pocatello where something like this is never for sale, I don't think there a too many people here that are into a little higher quality music. Just waiting for my neighbor to get home from work to help me carry these beasts up the stairs and into the houseHome Theater

I agree, I have both 1.2TL and 2.3 non TL in my family and they are quite good in their own way. I would pay $700 or a little more for a pair of 2.3's in good shape any day.
Do you have the room for these? -
Inspector 24, I was inquiring about what kind of price these would be worth and another Polkie told me about the one's on Craigslist right here in town. I am loving them!Home Theater
