KEF 107's

A buddy of mine just picked up a pair of KEF 107's and he told me one of the tweeters is not working properly. I have not heard them yet but suggested he switch the tweeters around and see if the problem follows the tweeter.
We'll see what happens next

Any of you guys familiar with these speakers? Jeff said something that kind of concerned me...... he has the Denon receiver the guy used with the KEF's. I told him not to use it but to use his old Sansui AU-?? integrated amp instead.

If the problem is in the x-over where should he go for a fix? He told me they are from the mid-80's and if that's true maybe the caps have started to go bad  They also have a broken binding post.

Any suggestions are always appreciated.

Thanks

I just did what you told him to do to my speakers..switched tweets over--it was the xover gone bad on my ksf's..i ended up ordering some off ebay for 50.00 to my doorstep. Easy fix. And now the tweets work perfect--have you researched that model to see if others have had issues like that/google----mine i think were damaged in transport or just one of those things that happen
good luck. Keep us updated with outcome. Randy
