I once owned a 2238B. It drove every speaker I threw at it with ease, and the tuner outperformed all the modern receivers I've tried.

Nothing vintage, but I have their SA8004 sacd player and it rocks.
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

That's funny. I just have to get a better phone or "borrow" one of my wife's higher end Digital cameras, that woman HOARDS them all!

Oh, that's the light diffused from the window blinds filtering through the plastic cover of the Technics TT above the Marantz. Either that or I'm trying to replicate a sunny day in Beijing! lol

No vintage, but I have the Marantz KI-SA Black Pearl SACD player.

I'm going to right that pic for you, Randy? Some very nice pieces.

    What's on the bottom? A DVD/CD player?

I had a Marantz 1150 I bought overseas for $75 new back in the 70's.
I have owned an integrated, a receiver, and a Quad receiver since.
I have now flushed all the vintage stuff out of here. A few pieces have tempted me,
but I no longer have speakers and amps stashed all over the place.
Now if I could just part with a few headphones.......

I had two vintage Marantz pieces. The 2245 was gone through and recapped...sounded MUCH better than the untouched 1150 integrated.

Oh jeez, do I need a picture? Marantz CD6004:

    marantz cd6004.png

Certainly not vintage...but it sounds great, and it has a USB input in front which lets me use my 160GB/80GB ipods to listen to Apple Lossless music files, using the player's DAC.

Which is a big deal, because I love the convenience of playing from ipod. Also, when I get a separate DAC with ipod and/or USB input, it's not gonna be cheap (I'm looking at you, Peachtree IDAC). So this player is a great way to listen to cds and files, with pretty good sound quality, without paying a lot of money.
