LSi7 Right Speaker Underpowered and making popping noises

Hi all,
I purchased a pair of LSi7 bookshelf speakers and they've worked great for a few months.
I recently picked up a Onkyo TX-NR515 receiver and after rewiring everything I've noticed that my right speaker is now very underpowered when compared to the left is also very tinny sounding and making popping noises.
I plugged it into the left channel on the receiver and it's still doing the same thing. I tried use different wire, but still getting the same problem.
Not sure if there is something I'm doing wrong, but I can't imagine that the speaker is blown being that I've never 'blasted' them. Hoping there is something obvious that I'm not thinking about. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thank you.

I think you may be over stressing you avr. The LSI series speakers are 4 ohm speakers, while the LSIM are the 8 ohm series. According to Onkyo your avr isn't designed got 4 ohm speakers.

Damn. Anything I can do other than buying a new receiver? Is it possible that I ruined the speaker?

Just swap the speakers and see if the one sounds the same on the other side.Full 5 channel set of Polk Audio

I did swap them and it does sound the same..

Also he should be able to grab a new amp to power those speakers like a Emotiva XPA-2,3 or 5 as long as the receiver he has now has pre-outs. Those would drive 4 ohm speakers.

Find a good used one to save some dough as long as it still has the warranty. Theres some on ebay.Full 5 channel set of Polk Audio

Tried the one speaker alone? If its still doing it alone then i'd say the speaker is now bad. Wait for a better opinion though...Full 5 channel set of Polk Audio

Can I run an amp through the receiver through a subwoofer pre-out? There are two on the back of this receiver.
-
No, you can not use the sub out as a pre out. Your AVR has no pre outs. If you continue to run 4 ohm speakers on equipment designe for higher impedance speakers, on of 3 things will happen:
1) you destroy speakers and/or cross overs
2) you do serious damage to your AVR amp section-usually terminal
3) Both 1 and 2 -
What were you using for power before buying the AVR?Political Correctness'.........defined
