Congrats. It's definitely a rabbit hole! Word of advice - Record cleaning machines are expensive, and are worth every penny! Enjoy!
Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

I agree. There is a vacuum RCM on AudioAdvisor that basically does everything my Nitty Gritty does for $200. Wish I had known about it before I got mine, but none-the-less, a great investment.

People seem to like the SpinClean, which is very affordable, but there's no vacuum involved. Once you go vac, you never go back!

Nice entry level, no frills belt drive tt made by CEC for Marantz. They go for stoopit money these days because of that NAME on the top plate (and their attractive if somewhat rococo cosmetics). I was lucky enough to find one some years back at my favorite local emporium. Gave it to a friend of our daughter's... :-P

    Which Shure cartridge?

As to affordable record cleaning - if the Disc Doctor brushes and fluid are still available... these work well and are not expensive at all... one doesn't need an automated cleaner, you know? ;-)

(it's also possible to buy the vacuum hardware and build a DIY RCM out of a turntable carcass - I know a few folks 'round here who've done that)

Good information here all....i just got back into vinyl after 30 plus years also. I would love to get a cleaner also, that seems reasonable. ---- i checked on prices of Marantz TT's---- but for now i will stick with the 2 Technicsi have. They seem to work. Nice looking MARANTZ. Enjoy

I actually listened to my Zep III two days ago. Has plenty of pops and clicks, I didn't take care of my vinyl when I was a kid the way I do today, but it still sounds great. Zeppelin on vinyl destroys any cd version that has ever been released.

I just found an original press of Eat A Peach (gatefold) in a used record store in Tampa. Vinyl is shiny as hell, sounds mint, and I paid $7.

Thanks for all the nice comments, but its been a few days now " i like vinyl" im goning to stick just my toes in the rabbit hole. Want to up grade my cart. Not sure if " vintage" cart are a viable way of getting a good cart for less or just buy a new one of less value? If new whats a decent cart. for around 150.00.
