Monitor 5(b) woofer/midrange replacement options

Picked up a pair in good shape for $40.00. Found out why too. One of the woofer/midrange's magnet has shifted, so it's DOA, but the other speaker sounds amazing. Pulled the driver, the only numbers, besides dates, was a rubber stamped M5. Looking for replacement options, (may just be easier to replace both) any suggestions? FYI, 3 way system, silver dome tweeter, 6-1/2" midrange 8" passive woofer. No fuses near binding posts. Small sticker with s/n just says Monitor Series 5.

Hi, and welcome to Club Polk. The correct driver is an MW6502. You can find tons of them on eBay, or order a replacement directly from Polk customer service. Be sure to tell them you're a Club Polk member, and they will discount the woofer to $48.00 and shipping is free. BTW, it's a 2 way system, the passive radiator is similar in function to a port.

Like westmassguy said. that driver is not too hard to get. Keep in mind the new units from polk do look slightly different, but should sound almost, if not, identical. I haven't tried any of the new polk drivers but have not heard any others say they sounded different. Only slightly different looks which some don't mind while others do.

I may have one around. Where are you located? I don't like to ship them because they can shift in shipping. I am in MD.
