playing multiple sets of speakers

I have 3 sets of 8ohm speakers in the same room. I will not entertain playing all three but 2 I think is an option.
I have a Niles speaker selector w/ a protection button on the end I believe it's for this purpose. Now I also think my Adcom wouldn't break a sweat w/ this either.I just want to know if this is advised ,stupid ,or not healthy for the gear involved. Why you ask ,only because I can no other reason and of course it's not needed between any of the sets I have.

Perfectly fine with the protection button pushed in.
Even without protection, you should be okay with 2 pairs, even 3 pairs should be okay at normal volume.
I use Niles 6 and only run 1 pair most of the times but I use protection when running more than one pairs since my speakers are 4 or 6 ohms and also driven by a HT receiver.
