For sale locally is a 5 piece Rti set, including 2 x A9s, 2 x A3s, 1 x Csi A4 for $700.00. This would be my first venture into home theater as I have only had a pair of SDA 1s to listen to. Seller also has an Axiom EP500(I think, it was pretty big) for another 200-300. Opinions welcomed.

That would be a great deal for the A9's alone. You do know that you will need some power to drive these though.

Very good price. You may want to consider upgrading the A4 to an A6 though. Even at that, it is still a great deal.

Yes, I currently have a Carver 0.5t that I use for two channel with SDAs, maybe 150w into 8 ohm? I do not have a home theater reciever to power the others however. Any idea on that sub?

Excellent price. The A9's could be worth close to that themselves depending on their age/condition.

Condition looked good, just smudges. one corner on the A9s looked like it had been bumped into.

That's not a bad deal... If it were me, I'd offer him $850 for the whole shebang and see if he bites. That Axiom sub is pretty solid.

For what it's worth I paid $1350 for my Cherry A9/A6/FXiA6 combo all in mint condition and felt like I got a great deal.

Definitely need power. They were **** with "140wpc" from a Yamaha AVR, ok with 135wpc from a Parasound 1206, and freaking awesome with 220wpc from the current Parasound 2003.

Well, he didn't bite at 850, but did at 900! Tested each individually and everything is in working order. Just finished dusting. The Axiom sub turned out to be a EP350 and not the EP500 I originally thought. The center turned out to be the 6 also, so a plus there. Still a pretty good deal right?!?

Chumlie, I forgot to change my location, I'm in El Paso now. Maybe we could work something out if I see something in Cleveland and visa versa. Although there are hardly ever speakers on CL down here.

Might be a while, I don't even have a 5.1 receiver . Been just a two channel listener. What can be had for around $400? I would be using my Carver for the mains so it would have to have pre-outs, just utilizing it to drive rears and center. I like the features on the Harmon Kardon line but haven't heard much about their reliability.
