the internal dimensions of the box are 16 inches tall 16 inches deep and 36 inches wide. then i have an angle on it... It comes out to like 3.85 cubic feet of area inside of the box.. i have 4 ports that are 2 1/2 inches in diameter. And it is just one big chamber.

just to give you a round about idea.....for a 32hz tune the ports should be 11.54" long each...i probably wouldn't go any higher than 35hz...which is 9.34" each

i have to run...but what is your port length now...and do you know what the displacement on the drivers are...if you don't know and noone answers...i'll check it out later

If i were you i'd drop the eclipse coax's. they're known for their head units and titanium series subs, and personally (like someone else mentioned) i feel they sound hallow and empty... I'd suggest the new polk db or mmc coax's. the polk's will provide a fuller, warmer sound and i think you'd be happy with them. the MoMo's IMHO definately sound better than the DB's but the DB's sound very good in their own right, just depends on wether or not you're willing to pay the difference for the MM's

well alright thanks for posting that when you did. i was about 5 minutes away from ordering the eclipse ones :-p. ill go look at the polk speakers right now. and i dont care about price on those.. as long as i can get a set of 4 speakers (two 5.25s and two 5 X 7s for around 3 or 400 dollars) on my way to look at polk speakers now.

yeah, those are Db Drive, not polk audio. i believe www.acaraudio.com and www.sounddomain.com and www.crutchfield.com are all licensed polk dealers but check with polk customer services first, you DO NOT want to get an unwarrantied speaker... to get a good listen in hit your local Circuit City, they should have both the db's and mm's on display. as i said you should be able to notice the difference in sounds between the mm's and db's but they both sound sweet :D

at sound domain the mm's are 149 for the 5.25's and 169 for the 5x7's and those are prices for a pair. the db's are 89 and 99 respectively. I would not trust any dealer who sells single speakers... that does not sit well with me....

crutchfields prices are identical to sounddomains so i'd buy from crutchfield... better reputation

was browsing that website... they carry all of the absolute **** brands, they have legacy, plye, audiobahn, lanzar, earthquake... if it sucks **** they have it... i wouldn't buy a thing from them personally, i don't associate with companies that deal in pyle and their ilk.

I looked at acaraudio.com.. and they dont seem to have anything polk that i can find. so I guess im buying from sounddomain.com. thanks for the help :)... and since you all seem to be helping me find things that are better, do you think the deck i was going to get is fine? if not.. recommend something better please :-p i was gonna get: http://www.caraudioexpert.com/productView3.asp?productID=3550 or i could get it from here: http://www.acaraudio.com/product_info.php?cPath=21_29&products_id=36 but the first one is cheaper by a lil and i think i can trust that site so ill probably buy from the first site.

im not a big fan of alpine, but that deck will do you fine, and regular speakers are priced per pair, subs are priced by each single one

I like viper, go to Circuit city and get it installed, it'll cost a little more but it's about a 4-6 hour install if you're familiar with alarms... not something you want to mess with on your own... also with the viper you have a lifetime warranty on the entire alarm and CC gurantes the install for life as well, no need to buy an extended warranty or anything, it's all guranteed :D that and having gone through the traning for a roadshop installer myself i trust CC to do a better job than best buy or other corprorate controlled shops, and local shops are normally more expensive...

far as the deck goes it's a decent deck...
You may also want to look at this one...

Pioneer 750mp, benefits over the alpine you wanted... OEL display (sweet looking) MP3 capable (put 10 cd's onto one disk for ease of access) it's the premier line so it comes with a 2 year manufacturer warranty. only disadvantage is that it's 40 bucks more, but the extra year of warranty makes it worth it to me right there, add in the mp3 and OEL display and you're getting your 40 bucks worth and then some :D I tend to prefer pioneer decks anyway...

hell.. i was kinda wanting a deck with blue lights on it cuz everyting else in my car has blue lights.. but that deck is friggen nice! and like with the brutus.. im sure i can surf around a lil and find one for cheaper if i want :p. but if i have to ill pay 270 itll be well worth it. oh and ill check on viper alarms. and yea mtxman.. i planned on having circuit city install most things, here in grand junction we have alot of places..... us tech, soundstage, on the go car audio, circuit city.. and alot more, but i trust circuit city the most. and if i have to spend like 900 dollars on an alarm even thatll be worth it, cuz if i dont have an alarm it will be alot easier for them to steal everything.. and if that happens a time or two ill be out a couple thousand bucks :(

IMO, the best alarm you have is your head...
dont be stupid, dont park in bad areas if preventable
if you live in a bad area, everytime you go in your house, take your face plate INSIDE THE HOUSE with you
im sure it would take about 2 seconds for a thief to realize the face plate is in your glove compartment, under your seat, or on the sun visor
    tinted windows...
    park in well lit areas
dont put stickers like Polk/MOMO, Pioneer or any other gear you have
to a thief your "Polk/MOMO" sticker reallys says "Hey, I have expensive speakers, come in and take em!"
and ill get a new alarm when i get a new truck...whichll be in about 2 yrs or so, unless the local bank starts giving free handouts...lol

I couldn't agree with cody more, also if you have a hatchback make sure that the subs and amps are covered, don't let them be seen (i can't remember what you drive but even if you don't have a hatch, the advice could help someone else)

As far as alarms the key features that i can think of are:

Starter Kill, prevents hotwiring, car won't start while alarm is activated

Shock sensor, if someone bumps your car hard it'll sound the alarm, good if they try to smash the windows out.

visible led, light that shows thieves that the car has an alarm, the viper sticker that comes with the alarms always helps keep em away...

can't realy think of anything else atm but as far as price goes the highest end viper alarm at CC is around 5-6 hundred and that's with keyless entry and remote start, the remotes for the alarm also display the status of the car (they have a little display) but you can get a realy good basic viper alarm installed from them for around 300

umm for mtxman u were right i drive a 1996 ford escort 2 dr hatchback. i already have a cover to cover everything, no worries about that. and cody, my windows are very tinted. but the reason i was worried about the alarm is because my sister, i dont like her car much.. but its a nissan sentra, she has two 12s and she has some kinda bazooka amp in it. alpine deck and alpine speakers. and some guys that got mad at her... it was pretty lame and sure was manly.. not. took a baseball bat one night and bashed all of her windows out except the rear passenger. and they stole about 150 cds from her and that night she was dumb.. the one night out of two years left the faceplate on and it got stolen, she replaced that, but i dont want to have to deal with that kind of stuff happening. and with an alarm that stuff wouldnt have got stolen cuz it happend around 2am about 30 feet from where i was at that time, and i was awake too. if there was an alarm i would have heard it and prevented it. but before they did it it looks like they took out the fuse by the battery on the hook up wires. the cops said that had been happening alot on thefts because that would disable any alarm that may be hooked up at the time.... so even if i bought an alarm.. couldnt they disable it like that?

to any theif with half a brain, starter kill is pointless...

all you do is rip off the bottom of the dash, jump 4 wires together and boom the **** is running for ever... starter kill or no starter kill... all he's gotta do is jump the wire on the motor side versus the key side - although i do have starter kill on all my alarms... i dunno... just after learning how to install i kinda sat there goin " man its easy to bypass! "

the cops were wrong, the better alarms out there have an internal battery just for the alarm, so they can disconnect the battery, and the alarm will still be going
as far as the price goes, or availability, i dont know

well when i go down to us tech and talk to them about a viper alarm, ill have to make sure and ask them about that. cuz i dont wanna buy a 3 or 400 dollar alarm and just have the idiots take a fuse out and that disable the alarm. that would really bite :-\
