Just a heads up.

I just got back from the VA for a second biopsy, This one was for a mole on my shoulder that had started to get darker so they removed it and will get back to me in a couple weeks with the results of the biopsy. They don't think it's cancerous but just want to be sure.

The first one they did in January was for what looked like a pressure sore but was in a place that you would not normally get a pressure sore. It turned out to be a non cancerous thing (I can't pronouns or even spell it) so they froze it and it should fall off in a couple days.

Now the part that really sucks. For the past couple years I've had a dry spot on my butt that's been hurting on and off up until about 2 weeks ago when it started hurting all the time I was up in the wheelchair, So I saw my doc on the 19th and she said it was nothing to worry about and put so AD ointment on it and it should be fine. So this last weekend it turned into a small open sore! So now she's telling me to stay off my butt. So it's going to be bedtime for bonzo for awhile. So I'm going to be gone for awhile, How long depends on how long this thing takes to heal, It could take a week to a month or more I know more Monday when I see the doc again.

So if I don't reply to PM's or email's for awhile you know why. Oh the joys of a spinal cord injury.

A good night to all for awhile.

Preasure ulsers, if that's what it is, are no fun, but do heal if you stay off it and keep circulation good to the area. Heal quickly!

Sorry to hear, Tony. Hope it heels fast! Like Zingo said, the key to it healing is to allow it to get good circulation.

Wonder if something like a donut cushion (something with a hole where the pressure sore is) would enable healing, and allow you to get in the w/c?
