What's the general consensus here on the best method of mounting the Shure M97xE onto a vintage Thorens headshell/arm/table ? I mounted one on my stock TD-145 a while ago and have since realized that there were probably several better ways to go about doing it. Any advice is appreciated !
I have no idea. The Shure that came with my table was already mounted and aligned. I've yet to venture into installing a new cart on my Thorens, but may try my Sonus Gold Blue on there in the future. I'm in no hurry though. It looks different than any other table I've owned. Is your headshell or arm wand removable?Main System:

Mine was installed when I bought it from Frank. Fairly certain he had it done professionally.Good music, a good source, and good power can make SDA's sing. Tubes make them dance.

Thanks, from what I have gathered, the Shure is a tricky one, and I probably need to do a better job. Maybe I'll consider having it done by a pro also. I might even get some diff. cartridges for two spare headshells I've got and have them all done at the same time.
