Hi,
I have a polk psw 120 that i notice had stopped working. the green light won't come on. I took off the screws, removed the panel and found a fuse. the fuse does not look blown, however when i put foil around the fuse to test, the light does come on but the subwoofer makes a squeeling sound.
i let that continue only a few seconds.
I would like to try a new fuse first, where would one find such a fuse and what size is it. it is very hard to read.
Secondly, could that howling be a bad capacitor and are replacements available. its a great little sub and would be a shame to not be able to continue to use.

Hello sbarreth,
Welcome to Polk's forum. In all likelihood there is a problem with the bass amplifier and there's no need to try a replacement fuse. The best place to begin solving the problem would be with Polk's CS department at: 1-800-377-7655 or email at: polkcs@polkaudio.com.

So is this common for the amp to fail. It IS about 15 years old. Is it possible parts are available and would you happen to know the fuse type/size?

Hello, it is a 0.6Ampere 250Volt time delay (also called a "slow blow") 1/4" x 1 1/4" fuse. Polk CS can best advise on parts availability.
