I just picked up a pair of Monitor 10As on Craigslist. Unlike the 1cs I got a few weeks ago these were not in pieces and seem to be whole. Of course I had to look inside. What is going on with these crossovers?

The 10s take pretty standard values. Looks like the used whatever they had laying aroundHome Theater/2 Channel:

Looks like someone used what they have to come up with the value needed on the caps.
If they are within tolerance %, should be okay.
Instead of 12uf and 34uf, it has 12.2uf and 32uf.
I think the 32uf one may be slightly at the edge of tolerance but the 12.2's are okay.
Assuming both are 16 in there.

The guy I bought them from told me they were done at a local "reputable" speaker repair place. They do sound good. Not as good as the 1Cs, of course.Polk SDA 1C, Monitor 10A, Monitor 5jr+, RTI A3, CSI A6, TSi100, PSW505

I would have used proper values, and I wouldn't have used Bennics. There are better caps out there. Also, if you can solder consider replacing those original sand cast resistors with a Mills (roughly $4 each) or some other quality brand of non-inductive resistor.
It would make a fairly dramatic improvement for very little money."Science is suppose to explain observations not dismiss them as impossible" - Norm on AA; 2.3TL's w/sonicaps/mills/jantzen inductors, Gimpod's boards, Lg Solen SDA inductors, RD-0198's, MW's dynamatted, Armaflex speaker gaskets, H-nuts, brass spikes, Cardas CCGR BP's, upgraded IC Cable, Black Hole Damping Sheet strips, interior of cabinets sealed with Loctite Power Grab, AI-1 interface with 1000VA A-L transformer -
Sounds like good advice.(bad pun) The parts for my 1cs should arrive today. The 10As will be next.Polk SDA 1C, Monitor 10A, Monitor 5jr+, RTI A3, CSI A6, TSi100, PSW505
