A LOT! That will be all.

30inches is what we might be looking at but the reports are fluctuating all over creation.
I bet we'll get 4".

Yeah, they were saying between 12-18 for us this weekend, god I hope not. We've got nearly 20" in the last 2 weeks, my snowblower won't throw it over the top of the piles soon. :(

It is winter guys, snow happens.

Looks like wind conditions coupled with that snow is going to make for a weekend of bunkering down and listening to tunes. Hope all you guys in the NE keep power, stay warm, and rock it into Monday.

that's what i thought too, until these last two winters... they have both been more of a long, drawn out, cold spring. we have gotten more rain that snow, and now again this weekend we have up to an inch of rain and thunderstorms coming.

    good luck out there.

We got over 12" in the last 24 hours. Also there is supposed to be a massive solar storm this weekend that has the potential to knock out satellites and cause power surges around the planet. Make sure you have food, water and an alternative source of heat, light and way to cook in case it comes to it.

    Hehe...

How in the heck can we predict a solar storm....are they cyclic or something? EDIT: Never mind. I forgot about the time it takes to get here. It actually happened on Thursday.

Exactly Jess. The media likes drama and most certainly will tie this into global warming as they did with Sandy. Granted, blizzards don't happen with any frequent occurance, but they do happen from time to time. Sure isn't your first rodeo with blizzards up in the NE and won't be your last. Just prepare for it is all.

We are up to a couple of feet, and it's still snowing like crazy! City is not even bothering to clear the roads, waiting for the snow to end?!

I'm pretty sure you "boys" are going to get tagged by this one, though, I suspect the numbers for our under Canada state are exaggerated. Chances are that the Canadian COLD air mass just above us will PUSH the storm a little further away from us and we'll get no more than 12" and probably much less than that. In the end, it'll look like a typical storm for this part of N.E. and nothing more! We've had minimal snow all winter, WAY BELOW normal totals because of global SNORTING! That's, well you know, what it is, it's not global warming and it's not the opposite. It's something I've coined that EVERYONE can agree on because it does not threaten anyone's cherished political positions (because, it really doesn't mean "anything")! lol

See how easy it is to achieve "consensus"? All you have to do is "change" your "language" and you, too can win friends and influence people!

My driveway looked like that near the street more than once in the early-mid 1990s in MA ;-)

As to DC and snow... Mrs. H & I were at a parents' weekend at Georgetown one February in the early 'aughts when it snowed like a ****. Fortunately, we caught a ride back to B-more with a friend with a big black Suburban. I think the DC area got about two feet in that storm - good times.

Less than 2" on the ground at my house as I type this.
