ultrafocus 8000 intermittent loud distorted static noise coming from right driver

I recently got a very good deal on the ultrafocus 8000 headphones. That is, good deal if everything works properly. Inthis case it isn't and I can't return them.
Although they are used the appearance and sound (when working properly) is mint.
That said there is a strange static sound like a receiver picking up outside interference from something electrical.
I plugged them in to my cd player for 11 hours of constant music. Then I listened to them for approx 3 more hours with no problem. The next morning after 15 minutes of listening it started again. 10 hours later no problems. Does this sound like the driver and NC circuitry is defective. Or could it be some kind of electrical signal it's picking up. It is only in the right headphone side where the NC switch. I have tried new batteries. This is the only NC headphone tha I have owned that has done this.
Also it will make this sound with the cable unplugged. Has anyone experienced this problem.
I appreciate any help on this one.

Hello,
I have the same model headphones and have not experienced any problems. It is probably best to give Polk's CS department a call at: 1-800-377-7655 or send them an email at: polkcs@polkaudio.com.

Ken,
That was the first thing I did.Customer service and tech support were no help at all. They had no idea what it might be. Thanks for your repy though. Can't return it I guess I'm stuck with it.I never had any problems with my AKG K490.
I have been buying Polk speakers for 20 years. The headphones are a disappointment. -
Hello,
Since the problem is intermittent it might be caused by something external to the headphones. Are you able to take the headphones to a friend's house and see if there's a problem there?

Ken,
I will give that a try. I have tried quite a few NC headphones before the 8000's with no problem.I really enjoyed the Polk the best. Amazing sound quality.
If it is something external that is causing interference in my home then I guess the internal circuitry in the 8000 won't work in my home. Strange though.
