I don't think the constitution applies entirely to an online audio forum.

    lol no kidding.

Yes this is an audio forum, and in this section of the forum we are allowed to talk about non audio related stuff. So if you don't like it don't read it, and don't post about your dislike. If you don't want your god given, constitutionally protected rights and don't wish to stand for them then find a new country to call home.

    See the rules:

    1) Stick to the topic of the forum. This way information is easily categorized to make it easy for new members to access. Threads or posts that do not contain relevant information will be removed.

    2) Trolling - members who make a conscious effort to inflame or irritate others will be subject to warnings and/or bans.

    3) The discussion of politics and religion is irrelevant to good audio and is, therefore, not allowed on this forum.

    4) Pornography and violent images are not allowed on this forum. This includes posts about weapons or explosives. Duh.

    5) No baiting or fighting. Personal attacks, trouble making, inappropriate language, or any threatening or offensive behavior will not be tolerated.

    6) No spam. Any member soliciting spam will be warned and/or banned

    7) Do not brand bash. We're all in this together. Discuss what you like and dislike. But don't bash someone or something because you don't like it.

    8) Be respectful of new members. If it was only you and me on this forum, we'd have no fun and the whole industry would collapse. The truth is that the world needs people like us to show them the way to great audio. Welcome the newbies. For they will encourage the next generation of audiophiles. You don’t want to be the last audiophile, do you?

    9) Forum rules & guidelines are not up for debate. This is not a democracy, but rather a private forum owned by Polk Audio. Anyone openly debating the rules we have set in place will be removed.

I'd have to disagree, Shawn and Cody.
While there may not be any full-blown, 180 degree opinion changes, I think that perspectives have been offered that, IMO, have at least given some food for thought.
And that's a good thing. If it prevents any particular "camp" from a knee-jerk, platitude driven response outside of the forum here, then that's been a good thing.
The couple of threads that have touched on this subject have been, IMO, remarkably civil. Some comments have drifted over the line, but the train has stayed on the track.

And, as Maximillian mentioned, the mods have been doing an extremely fine job in applying an appropriate hand regarding this subject. One could reasonably say that this subject should be taken to other boards that are firearms related. That would be reasonable opinion. But the nice thing about the civil discourse that has occurred here is that you're getting what I feel is a spectrum of opinions from a very broad range of people: malcontents, n'eer do wells, highly educated, some not as educated but wise, rich, not-so-rich, left, right, middle-of-the-roaders, cable people, wire people. You name it.
A topic that can be very hot button, but the opinions expressed, while strong, have been pretty civil. If the discussion "out there" were done as well, we'd be a darn better sight off, IMO.

That's my 2 cents worth. If you found that helpful, though, I plan on charging more (18% mandatory gratuity).

I dont disagree in theory. However, this topic (and others) have proven to be debates that never end well. There seems to be people who believe issues are black and white with no gray area. I wont get into it any further because frankly i am tired of it. Offering viewpoints and opinion is one thing; lecturing to people why their opinion is wrong, stupid, what's wrong with the country, etc is a whole different ball of wax. That's a general statement both ways - not pointed to anyone in particular.

But in a way falconcry is right. These issues dont belong on THIS audio forum because while many can have constuctive debate, others use it to grandstand, chest thump and act like fools. Precisely the reason why the rules are in place.
