I haven't seen a gun taken away yet, or anything that points that guns are being taken away. If someone has come to take away your guns, I think you've got another issue...

Cody, the journey of 1000 miles starts with a single step...Perhaps take a look at Senator Feinsteins legislation proposals.
I bet 30 years ago, people would laugh you out of the room if you told them they couldn't smoke in a restaruant, or that a carton of cigarettes would be $80 bucks. OR, that there are neighborhoods in California, where you can't smoke in your own backyard.

You think some jerk politician is going to tell me i can't smoke in my Owen backyard..you have another thing coming...NOT going to happen. You don't want me to smoke in your reasterants..fine..i don't bother to go to them much anymore.
To be blunt..I'm glad i'm old and and will be dead in another 20 years..if i live that long in the first place.

Ironically, in a sense that's equivalent to saying that all guns should be taken away from responsible gun owning americans. It's what is said by the members that makes the thread, not the topic; just as the it's the owner of the gun that makes them responsible, not the gun.
Edit: I didn't see what you said, BTW.
Taken from a recent Audioholics reply regarding "Club Polk" and Polk speakers:
"I'm yet to hear a Polk speaker that merits more than a sentence and 60 seconds discussion."
My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

The point of "America" in the first place...was to get away from insane government controls and taxes...LMAO
Now we have insane politicians saying or depending on were you live...putting in laws....you can't even buy a 32 ounce soda for some reason..you can't smoke in the streets anymore.
Unless your brain dead..you pretty much should understand these insane people are trying to take away your basic civil rights.

Was working in a small town here in Texas this week and there were 30 people standing in line outside Dick's sporting goods Wednesday morning, that's the day ammo delivers. They have a special display and registers set up to handle the rush. I went in a couple hours later and they were pretty much sold out of a couple pallets full. I picked up a box of 9's and a gentleman who has never owned a gun asked me a couple questions (had really no knowledge of firearms)...he said he never had any intention of buying a gun until he felt his rights were in question.

That's the truth - last Sunday I went to 5 walmarts in 3 counties to find ammo so I could go to the range. Finally found one that had .40 FMJ ammo and bought the rest of their stock (5 boxes of 100 count). I went to walmart yesterday and the gun shop around my way today - all sold out and the gun shop was stripped of the inventory but still packed. I just ordered a bunch on cabelas and will wait for it to be in from backorder. I hope I have enough to get me through and hope that the zombies don't attack in the meantime.Shawn

I have one thing to say to those who fear loosing their rights, Sui Juris.

http://familyrights.us/bin/sui_juris/
Also:DICK ACT of 1902... CAN'T BE REPEALED (GUN CONTROL FORBIDDEN) - Protection Against Tyrannical Government
second amendment2
The Dick Act of 1902 also known as the Efficiency of Militia Bill H.R. 11654, of June 28, 1902 invalidates all so-called gun-control laws. It also divides the militia into three distinct and separate entities.
** SPREAD THIS TO EVERYONE **
The three classes H.R. 11654 provides for are the organized militia, henceforth known as the National Guard of the State, Territory and District of Columbia, the unorganized militia and the regular army.
The militia encompasses every able-bodied male between the ages of 18 and 45. All members of the unorganized militia have the absolute personal right and 2nd Amendment right to keep and bear arms of any type, and as many as they can afford to buy.
The Dick Act of 1902 cannot be repealed; to do so would violate bills of attainder and ex post facto laws which would be yet another gross violation of the U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.
The President of the United States has zero authority without violating the Constitution to call the National Guard to serve outside of their State borders.
The National Guard Militia can only be required by the National Government for limited purposes specified in the Constitution (to uphold the laws of the Union; to suppress insurrection and repel invasion).
These are the only purposes for which the General Government can call upon the National Guard.
Attorney General Wickersham advised President Taft, "the Organized Militia (the National Guard) can not be employed for offensive warfare outside the limits of the United States."
The Honorable William Gordon, in a speech to the House on Thursday, October 4, 1917, proved that the action of President Wilson in ordering the Organized Militia (the National Guard) to fight a war in Europe was so blatantly unconstitutional that he felt Wilson ought to have been impeached.
During the war with England an attempt was made by Congress to pass a bill authorizing the president to draft 100,000 men between the ages of 18 and 45 to invade enemy territory, Canada.
The bill was defeated in the House by Daniel Webster on the precise point that Congress had no such power over the militia as to authorize it to empower the President to draft them into the regular army and send them out of the country.
The fact is that the President has no constitutional right, under any circumstances, to draft men from the militia to fight outside the borders of the USA, and not even beyond the borders of their respective states.
Today, we have a constitutional LAW which still stands in waiting for the legislators to obey the Constitution which they swore an oath to uphold.
Charles Hughes of the American Bar Association (ABA) made a speech which is contained in the Appendix to Congressional Record, House, September 10, 1917, pages 6836-6840 which states:
"The militia, within the meaning of these provisions of the Constitution is distinct from the Army of the United States." In these pages we also find a statement made by Daniel Webster, "that the great principle of the Constitution on that subject is that the militia is the militia of the States and of the General Government; and thus being the militia of the States, there is no part of the Constitution worded with greater care and with more scrupulous jealousy than that which grants and limits the power of Congress over it."
"This limitation upon the power to raise and support armies clearly establishes the intent and purpose of the framers of the Constitution to limit the power to raise and maintain a standing army to voluntary enlistment, because if the unlimited power to draft and conscript was intended to be conferred, it would have been a useless and puerile thing to limit the use of money for that purpose.
Conscripted armies can be paid, but they are not required to be, and if it had been intended to confer the extraordinary power to draft the bodies of citizens and send them out of the country in direct conflict with the limitation upon the use of the militia imposed by the same section and article, certainly some restriction or limitation would have been imposed to restrain the unlimited use of such power."
The Honorable William Gordon

Agreed. My post was a response to another submitter's post, but I included a couple questionable links one of which was too political. So the mods deleted my first comment. Totally understand.
I do appreciate the difficulty that the mods have with trying to balance out the free speech aspect of this forum with keeping potentially contentious topics off the site. My post wasn't offensive (at least I don't think it was), but I can understand where it could lead.
We all have to remember this is primarily an audio forum.
Hopefully I can add this without offense... besides the rush on guns and ammo, NRA memberships are up by 250,000 in this past month. That is after a suspension of advertisements immediately following last year's tragedy. -

I'd have to disagree, Shawn and Cody.
While there may not be any full-blown, 180 degree opinion changes, I think that perspectives have been offered that, IMO, have at least given some food for thought.
And that's a good thing. If it prevents any particular "camp" from a knee-jerk, platitude driven response outside of the forum here, then that's been a good thing.
The couple of threads that have touched on this subject have been, IMO, remarkably civil. Some comments have drifted over the line, but the train has stayed on the track.
And, as Maximillian mentioned, the mods have been doing an extremely fine job in applying an appropriate hand regarding this subject. One could reasonably say that this subject should be taken to other boards that are firearms related. That would be reasonable opinion. But the nice thing about the civil discourse that has occurred here is that you're getting what I feel is a spectrum of opinions from a very broad range of people: malcontents, n'eer do wells, highly educated, some not as educated but wise, rich, not-so-rich, left, right, middle-of-the-roaders, cable people, wire people. You name it.
A topic that can be very hot button, but the opinions expressed, while strong, have been pretty civil. If the discussion "out there" were done as well, we'd be a darn better sight off, IMO.
That's my 2 cents worth. If you found that helpful, though, I plan on charging more (18% mandatory gratuity).Sal Palooza -

Yes this is an audio forum, and in this section of the forum we are allowed to talk about non audio related stuff. So if you don't like it don't read it, and don't post about your dislike. If you don't want your god given, constitutionally protected rights and don't wish to stand for them then find a new country to call home. -

I don't think the constitution applies entirely to an online audio forum. -
