Just sent the payment, cant wait to get it! I've been researching SS Amps for about a month. It came down to The BAT VK500/BATPAK,Bryston 4BSST,or a Classe CA-400.
The reviews on all 3 were through the roof, and used price was within a couple hundy on all three. Read alot of reviews on the Bryston that read it was a very nuetral, slightly leaning torwards bright amp, which is something I dont want. Most Classe's I found were silver, which wont work for me. And all the reviews I read on the VK500 were exactly what I was looking for. Smooth, refined,Gobs of power, and plenty of reserve current! Hope it sounds as good as I've made it out to be!

I'm hoping so! When I bought my Logan's,I brought my B&K Ref 2220 in to listen with them. They sounded good together, but my salesmen said he felt it was running out of gas at higher spl's. Well after a week with them paired together,I felt the same. So i'm hoping to hear a noticable improvement in the soundstage, depth, and overall presentation. Especially in the 94-98 decibel range, which is what I normally listen at. Thanx for the input Falcon!

My response is: If you need 60 seconds to respond in one sentence, you probably should't be evaluating Polk speakers.....

Nice amp and the better sounding of your 3 choices, IMO.

I hope you have a dedicated 20 amp line....even better a dedicated 30 amp line for the BAT otherwise you'll never hear what it is capable of.

What I noticed the most when I upgraded to the BAT from a Parasound HCA-2200ii (which was a great amp, btw), was a more spacious separation between instruments, a blacker background, and a MORE detailed, yet LESS bright, upper register... if that makes sense.

I do NOT have a dedicated line to this amp (renting, can't do it), but it was still a huge improvement.

Word of caution: lift with your legs! lol, my back hurt for a couple days after throwing this bad boy up on a table to get some pics...

    Hey now!

Be sure to listen before the wire upgrade. After you will thank me.

Important - No matter how much the guy moans about it, tell him he has to use 10/2 wire, metal clad is even better.

I dont think i'll be able to! My electrician is probly gonna rewire on Monday, and I wont be recieving the amp till wed.or thurs. Good idea though. Anybody shoot me to a site to get good outlets? And anybody happen to have 1 Shunyata Venom PC they want to sell? This amp has 2 seperate power supplies.

Pepster had some hospital grade outlets he was selling awhile back for a good price. Hit him up.

I have a couple 20A hospital grade red colored Pass and Seymour outlets if you are interested. They were my intro to upgraded outlets. They are good quality though. Just let me know if you are interested as I will sell them pretty cheap.
