My Boss went to CES and had the Audioquest Ethernet demo. He went in not believing better quality ethernet cables could possibly make any difference at all and almost didn't do the demo. He said "WOW , I can't believe my ears" , " The difference is drastic , everything is clearer and more detailed". He wants me to try out some of their cat 7 cables and test them against cat5e and cat6 for streaming audio.
I'm a huge fan of Audioquest and this is something I gotta hear for myself. Yes it's a data transfer cable so we shall see. I'm thinking the entire chain needs to be addressed from the router to the gear location , the Switch and finally to the gear.

Thats how I feel , there is to many companies making cables that offer little or no benefit at their price points.

Dan, what is your opinion of higher quality AQ HDMI cables, in terms of SQ and PQ?

True Dan, not every cable is a winner, but some position that into the whole cable snake oil arguement. If I'm not mistaken, even you have said in the past once a cable does it's job there should be no other reason to spend money on better cables. Thats not a knock on you either, but as your own boss found out, hearing....thats the ticket....to believing. I know you have been tinkering with cables as well with your digital setup on your quest for better sound, and good on you for at least trying and hearing what you hear. Thats all we ever ask of anyone, just try. Hopefully your boss now will explore better cables at least, though for a brick and mortar store I get that your limited as to what you can sell to customers at certain price points. Once your ears have been opened, it becomes more so a personal journey than one based on what you can sell. Looking forward to your reviews on the cable journey.

Funny we should be talking about cables again. I've always been one to try different cables (as long as there's a return policy) to get a feel on what's out there & to see (hear) how they mesh in my system in my room. Everyone's mileage will vary given these paramaters. With that being said I have an order coming from Grover Huffman...2 pairs of IC's & his Digital cable. I like his design philosophy compared to others so we'll see how they do. They should be here next week. Then the fun begins.
