Just wondering what dual subs you would recommend using with the LSiM speakers. Not sure yet if I'm getting the bookshelf or towers yet. This would be a 7.2 channel config in a 15x21 room with 8' ceiling
Thanks!

Budget? We can spend about as much as you can afford - and more!

Use: movies or music? If both what gets more usage?

JL Audio F113 is my recommendation (although budget is unknown).

A nice pair of used Velodyne SPL-1200's would do the job nicely for both HT/2 channel. I'm speaking from experience here!

As far as budget, i was thinking along the lines of $800-1000 per subwoofer but it doesn't have to be that much, just something decent quality to evenly fill the bass of the theater room. Was going to put them both up front on near the front right and left speakers. Probably 70% movies, 30% music for now.

Go with the 703's if you're going to get you some nice subs. You'll have the low end covered, and the 703's add a lot more punch to the midbass to liven it up.

Yeah, the 703's are what i would use unless there would be a good reason for me to justify getting the towers. Pretty big price difference.

Hsu, SVS, was going to also recommend Epik but heard there are some issues there.

REL is another good one as well as JL.

These looked pretty nice but wasn't sure if two of them would be overkill:

    Nice.

    Overkill? Pfffft.

That would be the definition of 'killer'

I use a pair of Polk Micro-pro subs (8") in my HT system and am satisfied. I also just replaced an older Klipsch 10" sub with a new Polk 505 and like the lower range of the 12" unit. The Polk 505 has had a few bad reviews however for a well powered 12" unit with a warranty it is delivered for only $180. via Amazon. I like a lot of base with my movies so I run 4 smaller subs and now the new 12" Polk 505...when the Navy guys in Battle Ship blow up the Aliens it really rocks the house. As far as the "expensive" subs go I have shied away from them as I am not totally convince that 1 $1,500 sub sitting in one location can out perform my 4 or 5 sub configuration...just my way of doing things.
Main Family Room: Sony 46 LCD, Sony Blue Ray, Sony DVD/VCR combo,Onkyo TXNR 708, Parasound 5250,
    Polk SDS-SRS with mods, CSI 5 center + Klipsch SC2, Polk RT2000P rears, Klipsch KG 1.5's sides, Polk Micro Pro 1000, Polk Micro Pro 2000, Polk SW505, Belkin PF60, Signal Cable Classics,Monster IC's, 2 15 amp circuits & 1 20 amp circuit.

    Living Room: Belkin PF60, Parasound HCA2200, MIT ProlineEXP balanced IC's,Emotiva XDA-1 DAC/Pre,Emotiva ERC2 transport,MIT AVT2, Polk LSI 9's.

    I'm guessing you haven't heard a $1500-$2000 ID sub? Quality>Quantity.
