How early do you

or with your spouse plan on hitting the stores on Friday? 5am, 6am, 8am, noon, 5pm?

Do you have a strategy in place already?
Store X at 5am, store Y at 6am, store Z at 8am? ;)

I'm working.. so I can't hit the stores till around noontime.

One Traget store here is expecting over 1000 people when they open at 6am. Get your running shoes on guys.. it's going to be a madhouse.

It's a vacation week, and you can bet your **** that you'll find me in bed at 6am Friday morning. I can't think of anything that I've ever seen sold that's worth the hell of getting to a store at 6am to compete over. Most of the stuff that's on those 2-3 hour sales is the lower end or entry level stuff that people just wanna whorde (meant to type it that way)........

    2) My wife said, and I quote, "Ain't no way in Hell I'm going near a store on Friday!!" Gawd I love that woman!

I stopped at a grocery store on wed evening before thanksgiving. I was in a good mood, no hurry, etc... After the third **** talking on a cell phone running through the isles ran into me I finally decided the next one gets decked whether I'm in the holiday mood or not. (seriously). Luckily that was the last one. I did almost go off on some woman behind me at check out after she started yelling because the self checkout light had been flashing for over 10 seconds and no one was paying attention to it. WTF!!! So this is civilization?? My patience is wearing thin on those who have no patience... Friday, shopping, I think not. I value my freedom too much.

all redbooks cd are $9.99 at CC today, the only worthy sale of the day (in my book). Scoop and spent, guys!
I am sorry, I have no opinion on the matter. I am sure you do. So, don't mind me, I just want to talk audio and pie.

I went truck shopping, and laughed at all the people at Wal-Mart and the mall.

I'll pay whatever the price; my sanity and freedom is worth more than saving a few bucks. I say freedom, cuz if I ever have to go out thru those madhouse crowds again, I'll kill somebody.

On the Friday news at noon a reporter at a BB showed the line just to check out. He noted that one customer stood in line about an hour just to check out with a couple of those $20 DVD players and some CDs. IDIOTS

the super cheapo Apex dvd player for $29 and $39 were flying off the shelves on Fri. what can you really expect from a $29 player? will it last for a couple years? will it give you an awesome image and sound? heee heee heee. prob not. one guy bought his limit of 10 el cheapo players.

What would you say to him if he was your friend and gave you one of those super cheap **** DVD players as a Christmas gift?

My sister bought one of those el-cheapo **** Apex players. I went over, made sure it was connected ok and put a movie in.

Piece of SH** wouldn't play the movie! She had to take it back and get a different brand. She still opted for another el-cheapo brand.

About all they're good for is target practice.

I try to educate, but they don't listen!

i feel your pain John. :p

those cheapo players cost in some instances less then a DVD itself.

the plastic is so thin on those damn things.. it's amazing it doesn't fall apart just by picking it up.

I'm with you on the target practice.. maybe Dr. Spec will loan us some ammo. ;)

    taken from AOL news:

ORANGE CITY, Fla. (Nov. 29) - A mob of shoppers rushing for a sale on DVD players trampled the first woman in line and knocked her unconscious as they scrambled for the shelves at a Wal-Mart Supercenter.

Patricia VanLester had her eye on a $29 DVD player, but when the siren blared at 6 a.m. Friday announcing the start to the post-Thanksgiving sale, the 41-year-old was knocked to the ground by the frenzy of shoppers behind her.

''She got pushed down, and they walked over her like a herd of elephants,'' said VanLester's sister, Linda Ellzey. ''I told them, 'Stop stepping on my sister! She's on the ground!'''

Ellzey said some shoppers tried to help VanLester, and one employee helped Ellzey reach her sister, but most people just continued their rush for deals.

''All they cared about was a stupid DVD player,'' she said Saturday.

Paramedics called to the store found VanLester unconscious on top of a DVD player, surrounded by shoppers seemingly oblivious to her, said Mark O'Keefe, a spokesman for EVAC Ambulance.

She was flown to Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, where doctors told the family VanLester had a seizure after she was knocked down and would likely remain hospitalized through the weekend, Ellzey said. Hospital officials said Saturday they did not have any information on her condition.

''She's all black and blue,'' Ellzey said. ''Patty doesn't remember anything. She still can't believe it all happened.''

Ellzey said Wal-Mart officials called later Friday to ask about her sister, and the store apologized and offered to put a DVD player on hold for her.

Wal-Mart Stores spokeswoman Karen Burk said she had never heard of a such a melee during a sale.

''We are very disappointed this happened,'' Burk said. ''We want her to come back as a shopper.''

Hmmmm, it think Wal Mart is going to be shelling out more than just a $29 dvd player when her lawyers are finished with em.

    That's too damn scary!!

Door crasher sales weren't meant to be taken literally. Another reason for me to ship the madness.

I noticed some stores now send out the manager with tickets for the door crasher items just before the opening. Probably to avoid the rush and subsequent fist fights. :(
