How the hell did ND get voted as the #1 ranked team in college football. They really need to rethink how the rankings are compiled. The horrific fact is we would have had to endure a championship match betwen Notre Dame & Ohio State if it wasn't for the ban. So much for all of those nerds calculating the rankings :razz:Gears shared to both living room & bedroom:

Would have been a better game
But in all seriousness, I haven't even thought of that. What a shame that would have been.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -
Complete and utter destruction. I wanted to stop watching they got to 35. that would've been plenty. but dang, Roll Tide!!!! I was hoping this would've been a much better game with Te'o being the best thing since sliced bread and all, but uh there's a thing called being overrated and a thing called not belonging... ND didn't belong. of course the same can be said about OSU a few times Vs. SEC teams. ridiculous mess.Home theater:

What a snoozer of a game. I guess Alabama fans found it exciting though!!!!If you can't hear a difference, don't waste your money.

Yup, they do take their football serious down heah! Why, just last week, some referee tried to take a 1st down from South Carolina, and just GIVE it to Michigan. Well, a Mr. Clowney from South Carolina took it right back.

Hope this puts all the Heisman whiners to rest. They should have put Rudy in.
I was having trouble going to sleep, so I turned the game back on and started counting Alabama's points.
-CodyMusic is like candy, you have to get rid of the rappers to enjoy it -
Ya know, somebody disagreeing with your point of view doesn't make them a whiner (or a fanboy or any of the other common titles people always throw around), it just means they disagree, simple as that. I don't remember there being this huge outcry from people saying 'NO, Manziel doesn't deserver it at all, Teo should win it!!!!!". Some thought Teo should win, more people voted for Manziel and rightfully so, people disagree its what we do, no need to make more of it than that.
Teo had a bad game, it happens sometimes. I was a Teo backer for Heisman originally, and it's a good thing they don't give me a vote, because I'd have been wrong. Manziel was lights out against OU and deserves every pound of that trophy, I just hope he's the real deal... -
Te'o and Notre Dame got exposed. They played one legit team and that was Stanford. They havent seen running backs like Bama has. Arm tackles dont bring them down. This is the SEC. Might as well make the SEC championship the de facto national championship game. Best conference in the nation and honestly, I think Texas A&M was the hotter team at the end of the year. I dont think anyone wanted to face them. Johnny Football is the real deal. Oregon was the team that had best chance of beating an SEC team. Real football is played in the South. No spread, just ground and pound.

Contradictory statements?
I agree that no one wants to face A&M (I said the exact thing in a previous post), but they don't ground and pound. Their offense is way more Oregon than it is Alabama.Things work out best for those who make the best of the way things work out.-John Wooden -
I just love how all the second-tier SEC fans latch on to the powerhouses in the conference. I had to listen to a UK fan (repeat... UK FAN!) go on and on and on and on last night about SEC this, SEC that. Will all the UK, Vanderbilt, Tennessee, Ole Miss, etc fans please sit down? This isn't little league baseball. All fourteen teams don't get to hoist the trophy and then go out for ice cream after the game.I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

I am a UF Fan. Always have and always will be. I am an SEC fan and thats what we do when we not playing each other is root for each other. No all 14 teams dont get to hoist the trophy, but they do make it easier to beat the 2nd tier conferences. You go through war in the SEC and it makes everyone else not that good when we play them. U dont think think the close games against GA, LSU, and the lost against A&M didnt make bama better? I am guessing you are a little ten fan, or the wack 12? We take pride in our teams and our conference. Ole Miss gave bama a good run if you watched the game, Thats more than Michigan or Notre Dame can say. -

That was. Their are some spreads in their but more teams are moving to that ground and pound because it takes that special quarterback to run that spread to perfection. Urban Meyer found that out after Tebow left. Even Arkansas went and nab a ground and pound coach. -

Ridiculous. I'm a Tennessee fan first but if my team can't win (and they usually don't) I want a SEC team to win it and I'm gonna take pleasure when my fellow southerners put a whoopin' on the "number one" team.....again. I see nothing wrong with that.
Now I agree with you that I don't have a right as a Vols fan to go running around screaming "YEAH IN YOUR FACE! WE RULE! YOU SUCK!" but I don't see anything wrong with rooting for and enjoying the success of my neighbors.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

All I can say is congrats on a good win. I am still wondering how Teddy Bridgewater was able to leave the state. Dont forget who your coach is and where he came from. Eddie Strong was our D coodinator for a while and during our championship runs, and I am guessing his ties to the state has helped him recruit in FL. Once again Congrats on a good win. We were thoroughly outplayed that game and I am not ashame to admit that. -
It's all gravy. I'm seriously not trying to troll here. I've just always kind of been intrigued by the "SEC mentality". It could be argued that the Big East has had comparable success in college basketball, but you rarely see this sort of conference cheerleading among the basketball fans.I never had it like this where I grew up. We wanted your coach. Everybody thought for sure Strong would jump ship and come to Tennessee. We were all shocked when he turned the job down. Gotta admit, it is pretty cool to see a coach not abandoning his team for a few more dollars. Worked out OK for us tho. I think Butch will be a very good coach.polkaudio sound quality competitor since 2005

After the Petrino debacle, it was certainly refreshing. And as an Atlanta Falcon fan, as well, I'm sure you can guess how I feel about that man(?).
Tennessee has too many good players in-state not to eventually right that ship if recruiting well. I'll go ahead and check out of this one. Congrats to Alabama for an excellent season.
On a side note: I always liked the idea of a college football dynasty. Don't really feel that way for any other sport. Just a ramblin' thought...I never had it like this where I grew up. Not to argue but not Really. The SEC has won more basketball championships than the Big East in the last 20 years. I would not call that Comparable success. The ACC on the other hand can stake their claim to that. -

A lot of what you're seeing is the "Southern State of Mind." We're fierce rivals among ourselves, but we support each other to the end when there's a new dog in the fight. I like it!
