What's wrong here?

So I got my Optoma HD20 hooked up last night, and it looks great but i've got one problem. It will not accept/find a 1080p source from my AVR. If i go straight from xbox, bluray, or cable it will accept 1080p no problem, just not from the AVR. If I send it through my AVR it only works in 1080i or lower. It's a 50ft hdmi which I know is a long run, but I put my panasonic projector in its place to test it and it will accept a 1080p signal from my AVR no problem. So i'm talking myself in circles, I know the cable works fine, I know the AVR is putting the signal out, and I know the projector is capable of receiving it. Anyone have any ideas?

I'm starting to think it's my AVR, since the projector and cable work perfectly fine without running through it. I just don't understand why my Panasonic projector gets a signal fine from it and the Optoma will not?

Hello, B Run, I'm just shooting in the dark here but it sounds like there may be some type of setting within the AVR that is preventing the signal from going through properly. That was my first thought before your latest reply. I wish you the best of luck for a speedy resolution. I know that things like this can be very frustrating.

That's what I was thinking as well, originally I couldn't get any signal through because the video up conversion was set to 1080p. Once I turned up conversion off, I could get my native 1080i cable source no problem, but nothing 1080p would go through. Yeah it's frustrating because everything works perfectly fine on it's own, just not all together at the same time

After spending some more time with it, I can get 1080p/24, and 1080i but cannot get 1080p/60 from the AVR, only straight from the source to the Optoma. I know there has to be some kind of issue between the two, and am thinking about trying an HDMI signal booster to see if that helps. If not i'm stumped.

Do me a favor and try a short cable from the receiver to the Projector. Nothing over 6 meters. Move the SC-35 close to the projector and see if you get 1080p. Next connect the Blu ray player and play a Blu ray movie in 1080p. If everything checks out , you do have an inferior HDMI cable. Yes I have seen this many many time with cheaper lower quality cables. Before you point fingers at gear, always check the quality of your cable. If you need advise on a quality cable , just let me know. It's all about timing with all gear , it has to be exact or it doesn't work.Dan

50 ft of HDMI is a really long run. I would definitely suggest a signal equalizer. Also if you are using a Monoprice cable, I've read many users having problems with them over long runs. I would suggest BluejeansCables and pick up the Belden cable.

Thanks for the help! Dan ill try your suggestion as soon as I get a chance. I bought a hdmi signal booster from radio shack and now I can get a 1080p/60 signal from my Xbox, but still can't get my bluray player or up converted cable to work. Sherard thanks for the links as well. It's not monoprice cheap but its not a great one either, I have a feeling I should have spent more on a cable that length. Ill try some more troubleshooting and take it from there. Thanks again everyone.

Just FYI this is the HDMI cable: http://www.amazon.com/BlueRigger-In-wall-Installation--supports-version/dp/B004GW25WY/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1357438423&sr=8-2&keywords=50ft+hdmi
And this is what I picked up at Radio Shack: http://www.radioshack.com/product/index.jsp?productId=4176042
I'll try putting the AVR by the projector tomorrow and see what happens.
