    what are the better tubes of that family of tubes? RCA,Amperex, halo or D-getter
    just stepping off into the deep end here trying to see what i would spend on tubes. On first look ebay anywhere from 13$ to 60$ a pair.

    Raytheon has some decent 6AK5 tubes. I know Maverick Audio uses them as the "upgraded" option for the A1 integrated amp, and people roll them into Little Dot amps occasionally.

    Edit: Mentioning Little Dot reminded me: Mullard CV4010 are a British 6AK5 equivalent, and they are typically pretty well-liked.

    in my yaqin ms 20l integrated amp i have used rca 5654's and am now using westinghouse/tung sol 6ak5's with good results.
