Watching the final bit of the Wisconsin/Stanford bowl game and the lights go out.
15 minutes later the lights come on. Everything is fine, (tv, ampo, dvr, oppo, etc.) except it looks like I now have a 40 pound anchor for a Pioneer Elite SC35.
MCACC light is blinking and no power.
I have tried to find the 'hard reset' for this particular model with no luck. It seems every model out there has a different button combo and I will be damned if I can find it for the 35.
Anyone have that answer?
If not I will have to haul the thing into Anchorage as a carry on and drop it off there to see what is what.
Or just take it up in the plane and try and break ice on the river with it by doing aerial drop practice with it.

and yes I just noticed that I have the 37 listed in my signature, fixing it asap!!!

Have you tried just to unplug it and leave it alone for 5 mins or so, then plug it in again?

Yeppers!! All I get is the blinking light for MCACC on the front panel. Will let it sit overnight unplugged. Have the vsx-21txh sitting on the floor ready to go back in the rack.

There are usually some big time surges when power is restored after an outage. I always unplug everything that's "sensitive" until the power comes back on. (If I'm home) Hope your AVR is a simple fix.

I've had the exact same thing happen. 5 Minutes didn't do the trick, but I left mine unplugged overnight and plugged it in the next morning and all was well. It's been working fine for a couple years now since that happened. Now when weather is rolling through I usually turn it off just to avoid a future occurrence.

Dj, I found that link but the buttons on the 35 are different then those on the 27. I tried every combo I could come up with, no luck.
Yes I should have unplugged it, my bad. It is plugged into a surge protector but that didn't seem to be much help.
Got the 21 hooked up so at least I have the Orange Bowl on.
It is on the kitchen table unpowered and will fire it up tomorrow to see if a good nights rest is what it needs.
Only had the thing for 15 months so hope to get it back ASAP.
Glad at this point that I live in a barren wasteland and no one bought the 21 when I had it listed for sale out here or I would be SOL.

Dead in the water. Have a note into Pioneer to see if they will give up the reset.
Next trip into Anchorage will take it in.

Come to think of it, I did have to do some sort of reset procedure on mine. That alone didn't fix it though, must have ben a combination of that and leaving it unplugged all night.

Yep, it is under warranty. Still gotta fly 400 miles to get to the nearest repair shop. Hate to mail this with the treatment it gets out here.

Good idea..... ha. Too old for that stuff anymore, or at least my body tells me so.
It will be a good opportunity to scare the bejeesus out of TSA when it goes through the scanner.

On another note, I had the hankering for upgrading my subwoofer recently as I have one from the late ninety's that is just not that effective.
Anywho, I contacted a company that offered free lowly forty-eight shipping and asked what it would be to get one up to me.
As I thought, they quoted me a little over $600.00 for the shipping (and that was with a 'shipping discount' of $150.00)! I am in no way bad mouthing them, as I know it costs money for them but I had to throw out my favorite pair of underwear after that little tidbit. As you might imagine, I will be waiting on buying one of those until I am in the land of discount shipping.

Got a hold of Pioneer. Walked me through the reset, no dice.
Spoke to authorized repair center in Anchorage. They tell me all is covered, no problemo. We shall see.

Just so everyone doesn't think of me as a grade A titty whiner, Pioneer support responded to my email.
Their suggestion,
While pressing the multi-zone button, press and hold the tuning down button. It should reset in 5-10 seconds.
If it stays on, all is good. If not, than servicing is required.

With that in mind, I dug it out of the box and plugged it in. Annoying MCACC button began flashing so I knew we were still at square one.
I pressed and held the on/off button, pressed the tuning down button and started the countdown.
At about the 6 second mark, 'click' and all the pretty lights came on!!!
I held my breath and nothing happened, it stayed on.
Faith in humanity has been restored.

So if there are any SC-35 owners out there and they suffer the same fate, now you know the hard reset protocol.
I have done what I can.

Cool beans, I had a feeling you'd get it sorted out without having to send it in. I remember when that happened to be, I was pissed, but cooler heads prevailed and I got it working. That procedure you mentioned sounds vaguely familiar though it's been a few years.
